Por aquí estoy retomando los pinceles y las acuarelas y les traigo una nueva creación, me gusta mucho pintar aves y he notado que se me da bien hacerlas así que elegí una de intensos colores que hacen un contraste muy llamativo y hermoso. Hello hivers. I'm back here picking up my brushes and watercolors, and I'm bringing you a new creation. I really like painting birds, and I've noticed I'm good at them, so I chose one with intense colors that create a striking and beautiful contrast. Me gusta aprovechar los cartones de productos que compramos en casa así que mi lienzo fue parte de la caja de uno de ellos, el resto de los materiales que utilicé fueron, acuarelas, pinceles, lápiz, borrador, agua y un poquito de pintura blanca. Empecé haciendo el boceto con el lápiz 🖍️.

I like to use the cardboard boxes from products we buy at home, so my canvas was part of a box from one of them. The rest of the materials I used were watercolors, brushes, a pencil, an eraser, water, and a little bit of white paint. I started by sketching with a pencil 🖍️.

El protagonista de esta obra es el Carbonero sultán (Melanochlora sultaneaave), un ave que vive en el sureste de Asia y cuya característica más particular es la cresta que tiene en su cabeza. Tanto su cresta como su abdomen son de un intenso y hermoso color amarillo así que es lo primero que pinté, recuerden que siempre hay que empezar por lo colores más claros 😉. Usé dos tonalidades de amarillo en el abdomen para darle mas volumen al plumaje de esa zona.

The protagonist of this work is the Sultan Tit (Melanochlora sultaneaave), a bird that lives in Southeast Asia and whose most distinctive feature is the crest on its head. Both its crest and belly are a beautiful, intense yellow, so that's the first thing I painted. Remember to always start with the lightest colors 😉. I used two shades of yellow on the belly to give more volume to the plumage in that area.

Por lo general, todo lo que es negro, en especial las plumas y las pieles, suelen tener un brillo azulado, violeta o verde cuando reciben la luz, así que usé azúl celeste y violeta para resaltar esas áreas. Apliqué estos colores en la cabeza, cuello, plumas, pico, patas, también en la rama donde esta el ave.

Typically, anything black, especially feathers and fur, tends to have a bluish, violet, or green glow when exposed to light, so I used sky blue and violet to highlight those areas. I applied these colors to the bird's head, neck, feathers, beak, legs, and also on the branch it's perched on.

Seguidamente llegó el turno del color negro, apliqué varias capas dependiendo de la zona. También usé marrón para la rama y el ojo.

Next came the black color. I applied several layers depending on the area. I also used brown for the branch and the eye.

Quería un fondo muy sutil y discreto para que toda la atención se centrara en el ave, así que opté por un azul celeste muy clarito y le agregué algunas pinceladas de violeta.

I wanted a very subtle and discreet background so that all the attention would be focused on the bird, so I opted for a very light sky blue and added some touches of violet.

Por último, utilicé un poquito de blanco para iluminar y darle vida al ojo y a las alas, y con un lápiz agregué unas muy finas plumas a la cresta. Mi amigo el Carbonero sultán quedó listo para volar 😃. Aquí está el resultado final 👌🏻.

Finally, I used a little white to highlight and bring life to the eye and wings, and with a pencil, I added some very fine feathers to the crest. My friend the Sultan Tit is now ready to fly 😃. Here's the final result 👌🏻.
