Saludos hivers. En la mayoría de los zoológicos se ha vuelto popular tener granjas de contacto, estos espacios le ofrecen al público la oportunidad de interactuar con animales como gallinas, vacas, ovejas, cerdos, cabras, caballos, etc. lo que siempre es una experiencia muy agradable, especialmente para los niños que viven en la ciudad y no están familiarizados con estos animales.

Hello hivers. Petting farms have become popular in most zoos. These spaces offer the public the opportunity to interact with animals such as chickens, cows, sheep, pigs, goats, horses, etc., which is always a very enjoyable experience, especially for children who live in the city and are unfamiliar with these animals.

Gallinas de raza Brahma / Brahma breed chickens

Estas fotos las hice en la granja de contacto del zoológico de Las Delicias en Maracay, estado Aragua (Venezuela), en la misma, aparte de los animales más comunes que la gente suele tener en el campo, también hay pavos reales, patos y una familia de cerdos vietnamitas.

I took these photos at the contact farm of the Las Delicias Zoo in Maracay, Aragua state (Venezuela). In addition to the most common animals that people usually have in the countryside, there are also peacocks, ducks, and a family of Vietnamese pigs.

Siempre es un espectáculo ver al pavo real 🦚 / It's always a sight to see the peacock 🦚

Al entrar nos recibieron la vaca, que en ese momento estaba embarazada, su esposo el toro y el pony. Uno de los cuidadores de la granja nos dijo que tuviésemos cuidado con la pony porque tenía mal carácter, que era bastante impredecible y de vez en cuando solía lanzar algún mordisco jajaja.

Upon entering, we were greeted by the cow, who was pregnant at the time, her husband, the bull, and the pony. One of the farmhands told us to be careful with the pony because she had a bad temper, was quite unpredictable, and would occasionally snap.

Hace poco me enteré por las redes que la vaca parió y tuvo una vaquita 🐄💗 / I recently Saw on the social media that the cow gave birth and had a baby cow girl 🐄💗

Apenas nos acercamos a la baranda, la pony mostró interés hacia nosotras y se acercó, parece que le caímos bien jejeje, así que empezamos a acariciarla con cuidado mientras el cuidador nos decía: "tengan cuidado, no se confíen mucho de ella, a veces se hace la dulce y después muerde a la gente", la verdad es que se portó muy bien y definitivamente creo que simpatizó con nosotras 😁.

As soon as we approached the railing, the pony showed interest in us and came closer, it seems that she liked us hehehe, so we started to pet her carefully while the caretaker told us: "be careful, don't trust her too much, sometimes she acts sweet and then bites people", the truth is that she behaved very well and I definitely think she liked us 😁.

A pesar de que intimida por su gran tamaño, el sr toro es muy tranquilo y amistoso 😊 / Despite being intimidating due to his large size, Mr. Bull is very calm and friendly 😊

Llegamos temprano, a la hora que abrió el zoológico, que casualmente coincide con la hora del desayuno para los animales, las gallinas estaban hurgando en la grama y los patos estaban comiendo frutas y semillas en la orilla del estanque.

We arrived early, at the time the zoo opened, which coincidentally coincided with the animals' breakfast time. The chickens were rummaging through the grass and the ducks were eating fruit and seeds on the edge of the pond.

Llegó la hora de la comida para doña vaca y el señor toro, y también para la pony, la cual según nos dijo el cuidador, es muy apegada al toro jejeje. Las cabras ya habían comido y estaban descansando esperando que les abrieran la puerta para salir hacia el corral grande. Olvidé tomarle fotos a las ovejas porque estaban durmiendo en la parte de atrás.

It was time for Mrs. Cow and Mr. Bull to eat, and also for the pony, who, according to the caretaker, is very attached to the bull, hahaha. The goats had already eaten and were resting, waiting for the gate to be opened so they could go out to the big corral. I forgot to take pictures of the sheep because they were sleeping in the back.

Hora del desayuno / Breakfast time

Cabrito durmiendo 🐐😴, ni cuenta se dió que lo acaricié jajaja / Baby goat sleeping 🐐😴, he didn't even notice that I caressed him hahaha

La familia de cerdos vietnamitas era realmente encantadora, en especial su pequeño y hermoso bebé, un cerdito gordito y de carita dulce ☺️, provocaba abrazarlo. Nunca antes los había visto en vivo, solamente en la TV, son muy lindos 🐷🥰.

The Vietnamese pig family was truly adorable, especially their cute little baby, a chubby, sweet-faced piglet ☺️, I wanted to hug it. I'd never seen them in person before, only on TV; they're so cute 🐷🥰.

Demasiado tierno 😍 / Too cute 😍

Esta granja de contacto tiene tres corrales, uno donde están la vaca, el toro y el pony, otro donde guardan a las cabras, las ovejas y los cerditos, y uno más grande donde los sueltan. Las gallinas, los patos y los pavos reales están sueltos por todo el parque así que van a donde quieren jajaja. También hay un estanque bastante grande para que los patos se refresquen y jueguen.

This petting farm has three corrals: one for the cow, the bull, and the pony, another for the goats, sheep, and piglets, and a larger one where they let them roam free. The chickens, ducks, and peacocks are free-roaming throughout the park, so they go wherever they want, haha. There's also a fairly large pond for the ducks to cool off and play in.

El estanque 🦆🦆 / The pond 🦆🦆

En el zoológico venden alimento para darle a los animales de la granja así que las personas que quieran interactuar más de cerca con ellos y darles comida, simplemente tienen que comprar el ticket en la taquilla. No estoy segura si este servicio está activo todos los días o si es solamente los fines de semana cuando la afluencia de público es mucho mayor. Es importante resaltar que este servicio es solamente para los animales de la granja, está totalmente prohibido alimentar al resto de los animales.

At the zoo, they sell food for the farm animals, so people who want to interact more closely with them and feed them simply have to buy a ticket at the ticket office. I'm not sure if this service is open every day or if it's only on weekends when the crowds are much higher. It's important to note that this service is only for farm animals, feeding other animals is strictly prohibited.

Los animales están muy bien cuidados y alimentados, y los espacios donde se encuentran están limpios, en cuanto a los cuidadores, todos son muy amigables y sonrientes y pude notar que disfrutan de su trabajo 😊. Bueno amigos, no me queda más que invitarlos a darse una vuelta por este lugar donde no solamente podrán disfrutar de compartir con estos hermosos animales, sino también con el resto de la fauna silvestre y animales exóticos que alberga el zoológico de Las Delicias, el más antiguo de Venezuela.
