Daily Hygiene at the block industry// Effective rules for quality production

Maintaining a Clean Environment and Producing Quality Blocks at My block Industry

Every successful day in my block industry begins with the commitment to cleanliness and quality. I strongly believe that a clean and well organized environment not only promotes productivity but also sets a high standard for workers and customers alike. Each morning, I make it a priority to arrive at the block industry before my workers. This gives me the quiet time and focus I need to inspect, clean and prepare the environment before production begins for that day.

The first thing I do when I get to the site of production is inspect the entire surrounding and double check on the previous day block production to see how it is turning into a strong and quality block with all the requirements (width, length and height) of the block ment . I pick up any debris or waste left behind the previous day, such as leftover cement sacks, broken blocks, empty water bottles, empty sachets of water and dirt. I also ensure that all tools, wheelbarrows and shovels are stored in their proper places and not scattered around to prevent quick rusting of iron equipment. Any equipment that was left exposed is quickly checked and wiped clean to prevent rust and dust from affecting performance thereby leading to quick damage.

I sweep the entire working area, including the mixing zone for both cement and sand, block molding area and the drying and stacking sections for the molded block too are thoroughly clean to prevent debris from old blocks not to damage the new blocks by upsetting the shape of the newly produced blocks. Clean floors help reduce accidents, especially slips and ensure that cement and sand mixtures are not contaminated with other unwanted materials that might be laying around. I take special care to clean the area around the block molding machine to ensure it is free of cement spillage and sand buildup,so as to ensure longevity and effective performance. I also wash the water drums and keep them covered to avoid contamination. The cleanliness of the environment reflects the quality of our work, so I make sure this part is never neglected . As customers are attracted to how good and clean your works are from others.

After ensuring the site is clean, I inspect the machines used for block production. I use a high quality, modern block molding machine that produces precise, solid and uniform blocks. Every morning, I also check for oil levels, loose bolts, electrical safety to prevent exposed wire from causing shock by quickly tapping the exposed area and I listen to any unusual sounds that might be coming from the mold machine, the vibrator engine to be precise and the sound of the generator engine use to power the vibrator machine. Preventive maintenance is key, so I lubricate all moving parts and clean out any leftover material from the previous day to avoid block defects or machine damage. A clean and well-maintained machine performs better and lasts longer, which saves time and money in the long run. Where my knowledge of maintenance could not manage the situation, I have a maintenance engineer as a second option who's workshop is very close to my block industry in case there's a need to involve his skills .

To ensure the strength and durability of the blocks we produce, I always use top quality cement and mix dust of Dust1 and Dust2 . I do not compromise on materials because the quality of the block depends largely on the ingredients used for productions. I go for reputable cement brands with a proven track record of strength and consistency. I make sure to use the correct mix ratio, usually 1 bag of cement to 6 wheelbarrow mix Dust1 and Dust2, depending on the block type.

Water is another important element in block production, so I make sure it is clean and stored in covered tanks. Dirty water can affect the bonding process and result in weak blocks. Before mixing, I double check the measurement of each material to ensure consistency and avoid wastage. Quality block production is not just about mixing and molding but also about monitoring every step of the process of production.

Once the blocks are molded, I carefully transfer them to the drying area where they are arranged in straight lines on clean platforms. This arrangement allows for proper air circulation and drying. I cover the blocks with polythene bags to protect them from rain. I ensure they are watered daily for curing which improves their strength and durability for a period of 3 days , with morning and evening watering. A well watered block does not break easily and can withstand heavy construction work.

By the time my workers arrive, the entire block industry is neat, organized, and ready for the day’s activities. This level of preparation sets the tone for everyone and helps the team work with pride and focus.

In conclusion, maintaining a clean environment at my block industry every morning and using high quality materials and machines is a discipline that pays off in strong block production and customer satisfaction. Cleanliness and quality go hand in hand to create a productive, professional and profitable block business worthy to emulate.
