RE: Is the world becoming increasingly exclusive?

I think one of the reasons they face the challenges of what other people think of them when they do immigrate is because, as cruel as it sounds, it can add hardship to those who were born and raised in that area.

Just as an example, Canada is facing a huge housing crisis, in particular the area I live in with rent for two bedroom apartments costing $1500 or more, when just a few years ago you'd be paying $700 for that.

A part of the reason for that increase is because we live in a university town that accepts an astronomical amount of students from India. Because of this landlords are opting to rent rooms to make maximum profits, instead of just renting an entire unit. And those who do rent the entire unit are increasing their rents because of how much other landlords are making by renting out rooms.

A lot of people in my area are aware that the reason why they're homeless, losing out on jobs, etc is indirectly because of these exchange students.

Nobody should have to live in a place where they fear for their life but immigration on an uncontrolled level will turn second and first world countries into thirds.

I agree that immigration at its optimal height might turn even developed countries to the wild west. This is why I actually blame the government of third world countries.
I think people needs to build what they actually want to enjoy and this is saddening that people are victims of the places they're from. Most people who enjoy the benefits of being from good countries wouldn't want to actually share what they have, for fear that it'll finish one day. This might just be what's happening in Canada like you talked about.

I think it's an accumulation of different things, Immigration being one of them. But since Covid hit we seen an increase in the housing the market thanks to things like inflation. That along with an increase of foreign exchange students coming over here is making it very difficult to find housing.
