Work for it
It's over now but this week was one of those weeks that offered up many challenges; it wasn't a bad week at all, in fact a lot went right, but I had to work for it, push hard and apply discipline as well and that can often be tiring. Of course, that's not something I'm not used to but sometimes it's be nice to have an easier run rather than having to grind it out for results.
Thinking on it though, would I be as grateful and happy with the results I gained the easy way?
I know many who would say they would be but while it's nice to have a few things fall out of the sky onto a silver platter now and then I actually like the feel of gaining reward through effort, it makes the reward feel much better and I respect it more.
I think that's not as popular these days generally but back a while ago so many would have agreed with me; they would rather sit back after striving towards a goal or result they eventually achieved content they earned it rather than having things come easy; I think it's good for self-esteem, confidence and a good way to build a solid platform to work from for next time.
When things come easy I'm not sure people appreciate or respect them as much, I mean generally speaking, so yeah...a week of struggle, effort and consistently striving towards my goals seems like a good pay off for the benefits that brought me...and it's the weekend so time to relax.

I imagine that people generally appreciate a reward they've worked really hard for. I know lots of people like to think that everyone these days is lazy and spoiled, but I genuinely think the majority of folk are good, hardworking people.
I'm currently studying for a cybersecurity certification and it is absolutely kicking me in the back. It's brutal, and while I might not even get it on my first attempt (it's a super intense exam) I know I'll eventually get it and it's going to be absolutely amazing because I have learnt so much and poured so many hours into it already. It's going to be an amazing achievement.
Yeah, working for that certification and earning through hard work will make it feel all the more valuable. It sounds difficult, but I suppose it's a hot issue at the moment and there's probably a lot to cover.

I am sure that I would appreciate Hive less if would be rich and could just buy as much Hive as I would want. Now I don't have that option. So I keep on doing what little I can. Be it posting, commenting or buying HBD little by little.
I wonder if I would be a successful artist would I also took that success for granted. Right now selling a art piece is kinda a big deal because I have only sold 5 so far. But if I would sell each piece in a few days/ a week after creating it perhaps it would also seem only natural to me?
But for now I don't mind the struggle. at least as long as I think that I see light at the end of the tunnel.(for hive/HBD at least...for my art I may have to fake my own death...)
Yeah, it seems artists go better as far as sales and prices after they're dead. It's something to think about, maybe fake your death and see how you go and if it works stay dead, if not then make a miraculous come back to life.
Same here, but, if there's an easy way to achieve it, without doing illegal of course, then i will choose the easy way. I hate getting tired to be honest, lol.
I appreciate and respect both, the same amount. Achieving one thing even though it has less effort, is a big deal for me. So I am grateful for whatever those achievements are. Even the simplest things. And to be honest, everything is hard for me, as I said I hate getting tired, so doing a lot of hassle things is really tiring, no natter how light or heavy those things are. (≧▽≦)
Yeah, the easy was is often something people prefer and it's ok I guess, but sometimes hard work is required to get things done.
Hi Galen, I've been typing and deleting for a while now. I am going to be synthetic, in life I will have reached more or less far, some goals have been achieved, others are yet to be achieved, and I accept that others will not be achieved. But I feel very proud of the effort I have made and continue to make.
That said, I wish you a good end of Saturday and a great Sunday. And I can't thank you enough for the good treatment you always give me: thank you.
I think a person should be proud of their efforts even should it not deliver the best result; of course, there's lessons in that as well and one needs to get back to it, adjust, and chase down the desired result.
It's Saturday night here, I'm relaxing after a solid day of work (yep, worked on Saturday). Life's good...no complaints. I hope you have a nice weekend, manage to engage some of your passions and at the end look back and see it as time well spent. 😊

In my case, I've had a tough couple of weeks at family level, today and tomorrow I want to spend it quietly at home. An unspectacular plan, but it's the one I'm looking forward to.

Having to work for things and having them come easy both have its perks...
Regardless for whatever one's after there'll surely be a need to work for it...
Personally I'm a tad lazy so I'd prefer the things that come easy, doesn't mean I'd appreciate it less (I imagine I'd appreciate it more since it didn't come with much pain or struggles😂😂😂)
But if it comes down to it and one has to face em struggles, I'd yawn, wash my face, roll up my sleeves and get into it...

Rewards are valued more the more effort you put in, I think it is directly proportional. Value and effort...
When I finish a task, it takes a lot of discipline and effort, and I reach the finish line, I feel much better and appreciate much more having climbed that step.
Anyone who has not worked hard to achieve something, does not value it..... I have seen this in many people all my life.

It will be! I'll tell you: I gave my mother a ticket to go to a concert of Raphael, a Spanish singer, and she is very happy. And I am happy for her... I will accompany her to the stadium and pick her up tonight. It excites me to see her happy!

I wouldn't mind finding a $100 bill on the sidewalk. In the grand scheme of things, something like that wouldn't be life-changing though. Something like building a business is different. If requires a lot of effort, discipline and sometimes frustration. Day after day, week after week. In 10 years a business owner might look back in awe at what's become of something that used to be nothing. I certainly feel that way. I feel amazed, and also deeply satisfied when I'm finally able to take a well deserved vacation. Vacation beer tastes so much better when you know you've earned it.
Yeah, one can't really work hard towards making a chance thing like finding a $100 on the sidewalk happen though. It's good when things come easy by chance but I've always going the really important things take effort although some people these days are more inclined to apply the feeling of entitlement.
Like your vacation comment, knowing it's there, working hard for it and leading up to it will make it feel even better so we're on the same page there.
For me nothing comes easy and if it does it's either two things 1. something must be fishy about it or 2. The person has created opportunity for it to come knocking at his door there is nothing like Luck there. Well i would rather work my ass up to achieve whatever i want that way i would appreciate the success more.

I have gone through all kinds of stages between my work life and personal projects, in all of them I put my best effort, and I still do, also in some I got tired and settled because they were not worth it, here in my country people abandon very good jobs because there is no retribution.
Of course in those that I put my best effort and the result is palpable and powerful, they transmit me a security, confidence and self-esteem that make me feel proud of myself, and I think, I do not know why, that I think and act faster and more efficient....es a very strong hormonal feast that creates a strong addiction....
Right now I am immensely involved in a marathon of activities that may be worthwhile, and I do it for me and for my people, in that order because the decision to do it is mine, and if it works out it will be an excellent way to save my professional work and to make people learn to work without lies and imaginary plans, something very common around here.
All jobs have limitations and obstacles but in my country there is a false "productive chain" and a centralization of capital that only hinder the development of any company with potential, whether state or private.
But as long as I am in one of them and there are small options I will try as long as there are possibilities to improve the business economy and its workers, otherwise nothing will be worth it.
Work and working towards things that matter doesn't alwyrelate to one's job and I think we have to (should) work towards things that matter in all aspects of our lives; I mean things like relationships, self-improvement, understanding of ourselves and others, improving on hobbies and interests and on creating our ideal lives and more...all deserve the effort.
Not if they make me work TOO hard. That only makes me cuss (privately ha ha) and fuss at the universe for not doing me better.
I wasn't always like that, I didn't mind a good challenge in my younger and middle years. I was totally up too it, especially the times when others thought it could not be done. LOL...
I kind of know my worth and these days I think I've done my time on the hard stuff. I would now really prefer the silver platter and the stuff falling in place on it right out of the sky. I'm grateful every day regardless though, I really am.

Seriously though, there's nothing wrong with things coming easy, just that (in my experience) the stuff that's worth having or attaining takes effort and so I've always tended to apply it.
I already have all that stuff that was worth working for. I'm just enjoying it now.

Haha, yep that's a good point but not everything worth working for relates to one's job...for instance, I work hard towards creating better relationships with those who matter to me and I think that's worth the effort.
I understand some people have to work for it, but, everybody loves me already.

I do appreciate things that I have to work more for, but I also wouldn't be complaining too much if BTC were to suddenly moon and my altcoins made me quite wealthy. Heck, even if one of my stocks were to pop. Sure, one might argue that time in the market can't be compared to getting something the easy way, but when literally all I did was hold the stock, I could see how there might be an argument.
Wealthy people still need to work for things.
