Cheesecake and coffee rewards

hummbubbnamppaawaaplingdopplerthabben.jpg

I love baked cheesecake but cannot eat it much, too much sugar. I'm actually pretty good at not having cheesecake very often at all, I am very disciplined and know how to say no to myself and move on; this doesn't mean I don't think about cheesecake I didn't have of course, but it means another positive step for my health and longevity of life.

A while ago I decided that I should reward myself with baked cheesecake now and then so attached it to an event, a win at work, as a celebration to mark the effort and result.

Rewarding oneself commensurate to the size of achievement is a nice way to underpin it then draw a line beneath before moving on to more effort and more results. I never used to do it, I'd just push forward from win to win and never really stop to appreciate my efforts, but I learned the benefit of celebrating those wins how it helped me drive on to the next, do the hard work, and I've been more productive for it.

This doesn't mean I reward myself with a trip to Europe each time I have a work-win or great result, the reward is always proportionate to the win, a little thing to look forward to at the end of sustained effort and the ensuing result, setting the reward prior to the process beginning gives an additional focus.

Last week I had a couple big wins at work making me super happy considering the effort I'd made. And...I said yes to cheesecake.

I hit a favourite cafe on the way home to collect consume my reward - baked blueberry cheesecake and coffee - reflecting on my achievement, effort and process, and what I learned along the way like what went well, where I might improve and so on. Mostly, I just ate fucken cheesecake.

I'd like to have shown an awesome image of cheesecake and coffee but figured I'd go a different way, show my creative side, and show you the aftermath of my cheesecake reward session.

Blueberry cheesecake fucken smashed ✅

I believe it's important to acknowledge the work we do, the effort, and results gained.

I'm not one to reward low effort, even from myself, but when effort is made and results achieved its worth taking a moment to pat oneself on the back before resetting and moving on. I've gained good results from it and yeah some of the "little rewards" have been massive things like overseas holidays - rewards commensurate to the achievement - but even the little things can be a nice way to celebrate before moving on, exactly what cheesecake and coffee rewards are all about.

What you do, if anything, to reward your efforts once a favourable result has been achieved? If you want to comment please go ahead.

I treat my family to something delicious at a restaurant. And we walk in the park and talk.

That sounds like a nice family moment.

I didn't see the cheesecake but it's made me hungry, especially at this time 2 and 54 am, I'll see what's in my pantry...🙃

Something I like to do after a successful accomplishment is ask to be invited out to eat out, or go eat some treats, I guess it's not something for everyday, but I deserve it.

I also really enjoy it together with co-workers, it has made us a good team.

That's what life is all about, giving and receiving in a balanced way.

Hi, how about this week?, tomorrow, ¡sorry!, in a few hours I deliver my weekend engagement post.

Yeah, the cheesecake was already in my stomach by the time I took this photo.

It's nice that you reward yourself after accomplishing an objective, I that helps provide some motivation.

I'm having a good weekend and hope you are also, I'll look out for your post.

I have noticed that sometimes when I comment on one of your post some people support your comment rashly as if the algorithm detects that I may be defiant, dangerous or am I wrong...😶...?

It has happened on two or three occasions, am I crazy or just a little?

I don't understand what you mean to be honest. Can you give me an example?

Of course.

In your first reply in this thread, your comment was upvoted by 3 people in unison, supporting it.

I see that this does not happen very often in other threads, however, I have seen it previously in other posts in the same way that in this case, users support the answer you give me.

That is why I think, some users detect me as someone who may be uncomfortable to you.

Nah, that's a local person in my city who I know. He runs a little account (frogcake) to support local Hive users, which he created back in 2017, it's automated and other accounts follow it. It will only vote on South Australians. It has nothing to do with you or your comments at all.

I was so scared and worried.

U're not the only one to love cheesecake! 🍰💓
As for me, I just realized I didnt have any achievements lately, not even small ones. This year was a chaotic one BUT we do have big plans for the upcoming years and big efforts will come eventually. So, if still around, maybe I'll get to tell what we did to reward all the work and efforts. 😊

Have a lovely week ahead!

I'd be happy to share my cheesecake with you someday, coffee too. 😁

I hope to hear some great news and how your efforts have paid off, don't forget to let me know!

I didn't see the cake either hahaha. But I loved your reflection. You really need to know how to reward yourself for every achievement- I particularly want a haircut when I reach my ideal weight.

Hellooooooo.

If I didn't treat myself, sure I'd get nothing done. It's coffee, then more coffee and a Bounty or Twix , homemade of course, when I've been very very good.

Bounty bars...so fucken good...although it's been a long time since I had one...(Sugar and all.)

I'm pretty sure you'd be able to make me a low sugar version right? Just drop your address below, I'll be there in a couple days. 😊

In the last time I had achievements for my great effort, for which I felt very happy and the people I am close to also felt happy for me!

I don't reward myself with a cheesecake, but with little things that I like... a super delicious ice cream, or a dinner in a restaurant, simple things that I like... also a dinner out of the ordinary with the family or buying something for myself for personal use. This is how I have rewarded myself and it's great!

Seems like a good way to reward yourself. Hurrah!

Hi Galen, you didn't leave out any of the cheesecake, so my sharp wit tells me it really was tasty.

About awards, I don't usually reward myself for achievements, although I do have exceptions. In October I may have one of those exceptions, and I have already thought about the prize.

Happy week.

Lol, yeah it's rare that I'd ever leave any cheesecake on the plate. You want to know the truth about why I didn't take a photo of the cheesecake? See below:

I actually took a photo and then started eating it but after it was finished I checked the photo and it was all blurry for some reason. I contemplated buying another one for a photo (but I would have had to eat it too) so decided to take a photo of the empty plate.

On another note, I think you should start rewarding yourself for your achievements, something commensurate to the size of the achievement would be a good thing to do. It works for me anyway.

Thanks for the advice, I'm thinking about it, maybe it will be stimulating to receive an award from time to time.

The unpublished blurry photo, has reminded me that I will most likely upload something to the bad photographer channel soon...,🫣.

Have a great week.

For many years I wanted to buy myself a car (a nice model).
I took part in a project, on which I skinned my ass off a chair, spent a lot of nerves, had a lot of stress, but in the end I was rewarded with a bonus of a nice amount, which I promised to use to buy that car, which I wanted.
And i bought it.

Every morning when I wake up and open my eyes, get out of bed, I have accomplished the most important task for that day.
I'm alive 😁
And that's why I reward myself every day for that accomplished task.
Right now in my favorite ice cream shop "Gram", I taste a new flavor of ice cream - black sesame paste praline with vanilla (handmade ice cream without added sugar, we also think about health). Yhe second flavor is blueberry sorbet (red)

Sounds like a fitting way to celebrate the completion of one (or several) great accomplishments and a fitting way to the start of the next great task.

I thought when I saw the photo that you did a fine job of polishing off whatever had been on that plate. Nothing left but the crumbs !

I should have eaten the crumbs too, cheesecake crumbs are just as good as the rest of the cheesecake. 😉

I know ! Licking the plate should be publicly acceptable when the crumbs are from something so good.

Congrats on the work win! Your reward must have been delicious because there's nothing left lol. Well earned and well rewarded is the way to live life. Mmmnn blueberry!

I was brought up to eat what was put in front of me, food wastage wasn't tolerated by my parents as they had to work so hard to put it on the table. As for cheesecake, it's easy to eat it all right? 😁

Me too! Didn't matter if I liked it or not. It truly is easy to eat all the cheesecake. My sister doesn't like it at all...I swear she was adopted lol.

I don't trust people who don't like cheesecake...but also, that means there's more for me so it's not so bad. 😊

You awakened my creative side and you did it right because I see the blueberry cheesecake and I can even smell the coffee.

I agree that we should reward ourselves when we achieve something. I have been doing that, as long as possible.

Without that little reward to mark the occasion of having created a Success result a person just goes from one thing to the next and I think that can diminish the effort; effort should be acknowledged in a small way; I've done it for a long time and it seems to work for me.

How did the cheesecake go over? Was it amazing or did it ruin your stomach? I used to drink soda quite frequently, but I gave it up quite some time ago. Every now and then I think man a soda sounds good. Then I drink it and I instantly regret it...

I would eat cheesecake for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could...but can't, so I don't. A piece of cheesecake now and then never hurts and I take the appropriate steps to make sure it doesn't have adverse effects considering my medical condition. Another needle.

Gotcha. I'd probably eat it every meal too if I could.

It is true that every person likes this sweet food, but nowadays the problem of sugar is also going on, so every person should eat according to his health.
