The Assassination Attempt and US Presidency
I've been strangely disconnected by this subject and only had contact with it from others talking about it.
The interesting part is the more people talk the more fuzzy it becomes. Maybe on purpose, to become unclear what really happened until enough time passes for anyone to care anymore?
Here are the facts, as I understood them without digging into the subject, so maybe they are incomplete or distorted:
- someone fired a couple of shots in the direction of Trump at a rally he had in Pennsylvania; one of them hit his ear, another killed someone in the audience, and another injured someone else
- someone was killed and presented as the person who shot at Trump
- the US Presidential race is pretty much over, bar another black swan event
And now the speculations part begin.
What I remember is they immediately found a scapegoat for the JFK assassination, but they didn't kill that one. Could this be the case too? I have no idea. Trump is crazy enough that some people with power may have wanted him physically eliminated. Particularly coming after a Biden who has been likely only a front for other unelected decision makers. It's probably why he was pushed into running for another term, in my opinion.
If that scenario is true, then it backfired really badly for them. Not only did the assassination fail, that pretty much guarantees Trump's victory, which they were trying to prevent. At least that gives Biden a way out, if he retires from the race.
I can't believe we could talk about unsuccessful JFK assassination scenarios potentially attempted in 2024! True, Trump is not President, but he is under the protection of the Secret Service.
Another scenario is this comes from Trump or the Republican Party themselves, to guarantee victory. Trump is crazy, but I don't think he would agree to allow someone to shoot at him with real bullets. And they are real bullets since people got killed and injured. Plus, I watched the video, he was actually surprised when he saw blood on his hand from the ear, and, when he realized he is being shot at, immediately ducked (way before any Secret Service officer was around, btw).
And finally, this kid could have done it all by himself. Where I have some trouble believing this story is that it seems like he caught a clear path to shoot Trump from a nearby tall building (which strangely was left outside the perimeter) and he attracted attention well before the shooting. Maybe he was a troubled young man, but if he was, there was no way to get into the position to do what he did without some... cooperation or disinterest in protecting the objective.
To me it seems someone (who, we will likely not find soon, if ever) went all-in and lost. It would have been a totally different discussion if the assassination attempt succeeded. But that's why when you go all-in you either win, or lose everything. I have a feeling whoever went "all-in" in this situation didn't lose everything, just a temporary set back while Trump will likely be President. If he will, maybe I am too convinced about this outcome and it's not set in stone yet.
Will we know for sure what happened any time soon? What do you think?

The world is just getting more and more complex. I am reading all the various conspiracy theories online too, I guess we will never know. Let's see how US votes.
Wouldn't it be something if after all this and the legal issues he still doesn't get to be President?
Haha we will see!
It’s crazy how people are now taking politics as a do or die affair
It’s sad
Let’s just see who will win this
Yeah, I never thought this race would lead to this! Although Americans have their history of high-profile assassinations, succeeded and failed...
The kid was a crazed lunatic but the secret service failed so horrendously that it's terrifying. No rooftop 150 yards from the protectee should have been unguarded. It was plain and simple laziness or stupidity. Trump was very lucky this idiot was a bad shot, but even as a bad shot he came very close to succeeding. I think the event handed to presidency back to Trump just like you do. I don't buy the conspiracy theories though, except maybe that they shorted his protection on purpose. That is a chilling accusation...
The fact this guy was spotted and they saw he had strange behavior and were unable or unwilling to stop him is not very encouraging. Maybe the "ideal" Secret Service from the movies is far from the truth and that is it.
My assessment as well... Complete and utter incompetence on their part. They have one job to do and they don't seem to be able to do it...
Well am not that amazed, do you now why? Because the world is getting it an end and we are made to know that the end time is a perilous time. All we need is just God mercy and protection.
In troubled times, more people turn to divinity. But before divine intervention, people should be able to deal with their own matters. If not, our consciousness is kind of wasted.
Things are actually becoming harder
Why should they kill because of politics?
This is why I don’t ever want to get engaged in it
Haven't you seen that politics sometimes makes people irrational? I'm not sure this is the case, but things can get out of hand. Sometimes on purpose.

I don't know if the race is over. Biden is giving up as the next candidate so there is always a chance that the new candidate could win. However, I do agree that the failed attempt massively benefitted trump. I just don't think we will get the answers we want from the situation because I don't trust the government to give them to us.
It's true. A serious candidate from the other side could even the odds. The question I would ask those proposing him or her, why didn't they push him forward before? I could think of one reason... To keep him or her out of Trump
s eye sight (and especially mouth, lol) and only throw him or her in battle once Trump can't be a President again. So, the question is, who with a promising/serious political career would want to face Trump now, lol?
At the end of the day, the shooter will be seen as a deranged man with mental issues and the case will be closed, would have been worse if the assassination attempts was pulled off, and you're right, Trump will never agree to be shot at, no matter what's at stake.
It would have been more chaos if it pooled it off. But otherwise, the situation would have been reversed. The other side would have been victorious by default... to keep things "under control" and stable.
Honestly brother, I find it worrying how the Secret Service failed to prevent this. It raises serious concerns.
The Secret Service failed my expectations on many events. The problem is when they screw up, it is obvious. Not so obvious with others.
Well said brother, it's not obvious with others
