Pack Sale for MoonKarts Starts in a Few Hours
With very short notice of less than a day, the first pack sale for MoonKarts will commence, shortly after the Arcade Colony website has been publicly updated with a functional version, where we can see our fork rewards too.
In case you read this at a later date, the sale starts/started on March 12th, 2024, at noon EST.
The announcement speaks of two options of payment, credits or SCRIPT tokens and is set at 5$ per pack, where SCRIPT is internally valued at $1, being the stablecoin used on Arcade Colony.
At the time of writing, there is no visible way of buying credits on Arcade Colony, so I assume that option will be visible in the Shop when you choose the payment option for your packs.
That is even better because SCRIPT tokens are on discount on Hive-Engine, so if you want to buy packs for MoonKarts packs (called Alpha Centauri) and want to pay way less than 5$ per pack, Hive-Engine is the way. I think I purchased them at an average of 0.76 HIVE per SCRIPT, and HIVE is around 0.452$, so I paid around 0.343$ per SCRIPT, instead of 1$. That means the cost of a pack for me will be 1.717$ (compared to 5$).
Currently, the price has already risen a bit:
I used funds from a Splinterlands LP to buy the SCRIPT tokens. I had around 50$ worth of tokens there which I thought would mean 10 packs, and I would stop at that, but seeing the discount, I purchased enough SCRIPT for 20 packs and I still have 16+ HIVE remaining.
I think it was a good deal. I'm sure people holding SCRIPT from the fork rewards who wanted to sell thought it was a good deal too, lol. You might be one of them if the price of SCRIPT pumps closer to its shop value (@achim03? I think I remember you were after the SCRIPT fork rewards, either for yourself or the projects under management). So everyone is happy.
I don't expect the 500k packs from the sale to go out quickly, even if we've started to taste the bull market excitement. But if you want packs for MoonKarts, you might want to buy your SCRIPT tokens from Hive-Engine before the gap between the price via credits (always valued at $1) and SCRIPT is reduced, and move them in-game.

I mean with tower defense splinterlands failed hard and glg doesn't seem been doing that good
I don't know. I don't invest a lot in new games from Splinterlands, but I do a little in what I like. I didn't invest in GLG, but I also purchased 20 packs in the tower defense. I don't like that it was sold, but it was probably the only solution under the circumstances, to maybe see something out of it. I don't like that it will probably involve another pack sale held by the new owner, so I might sell the packs and part ways with SoulKeep.
I made sure to put enough GLUSD and GLX into the diesel pools to qualify for the airdrop. However, I have already sold my recieved tokens. It's possible that I will invest into the new game at a later stage.
That's why I tagged you, in case you wanted to sell your SCRIPT while there was demand for it. May I ask when did you sell them?
I sold them early this morning over the diesel pool and I got something like 1.5 hive per script which wasn't too bad :-)
Nice! I saw they have a trading history since the 10th and didn't see how since we only had access to the fork rewards starting late last night, the earliest, to my knowledge.
I still believe as time goes on, the price will still certainly rise
If you talk about the SCRIPT token, that's not a certainty. It is designed to be around $1, but we will see.

It's new. They (Invenium, the other side of Splinterlands) created it with the Arcade Colony platform and published something about it a few weeks ago (if I remember correctly) for the first time.
I think I am busy enough with Splinterlands, Rising Star and idle games. So I might just watch and see how things go. Good luck with moonkart though.

New things like these keep people interested in the game and we will see their prices go up a lot in the near future.
I'm not sure what will happen with their prices. I purchased the packs to be able to play and earn if I like the game.

Wow, you got a huge discount. Those that sold their SCRIPT early must be kicking themselves now. I don't plan on playing the game, but I really hope it becomes successful.
