No More Bots in Modern and Get Ready for Land 1.5!

Today is Tuesday, the regular maintenance day for Splinterlands. What happens today that should be noteworthy for a good number of the Splinterlands investors is that going forward bots are disallowed in the Modern format. So, if you have a bot running your Splinterlands account in Ranked Battles, restrict it to the Wild format, unless you want to check the viability of Splinterlands' bot countermeasures.

Something else that is noteworthy... Land 1.5 will probably be released in August. At least its first iteration because it seems like there will be multiple iterations (at least two). One surprise of the first iteration is Runies didn't make the cut. Which is great for me, since I don't have any, but for anyone having Runies, I imagine they aren't pleased by this news. Titles didn't make the cut either, and I don't like that since I could use the extra boost from my Explorer title. But I can get over it. Maybe they wanted a more leveled plain field at first, when it matters the most.

Word is the second iteration would be 1-1.5 months later. That's where Runies should fit in, as well as Land Surfing. Titles too, I suppose.

By this timetable, I'd say Land 2.0 will be pushed to Q1 2024, maybe even later, if there is more than two significant iterations to Land 1.5. I think they are trying to time Land 2.0 release around the crazy times of the bull market, but that's speculation on my part.

Ok... So I guess they gave the signal. It's time now to start checking the resources and slowly (or quickly) bring them together.

In my case, it won't be a quick process, since there are lots of cards, many of them still not fully leveled up. They are rented out too, those that I don't have in my playing deck. But it's time to aggregate them, little by little. Or at least check on their statuses, to see what to expect.

I thought long and hard if I should create a different account for land play (and all other game plays that involve card staking). But despite my current decision not to pay for unlocking of soulbound cards for land, I don't want to block this future option whether on land or a different use case, by moving relevant cards onto a separate account that doesn't have the soulbound cards.

I will hate it though to clutter my play account like that with all sort of cards. Hopefully, what will be staked on land (and in future similar card staking options), won't be shown when the team selection screen for battles is shown to us.

Ok! Time to reignite my interest in the land expansion!
