Greetings friends. I recently shared with you a Hitmonlee figurine. It is a Pokémon character that I recently added to my collection.

Well, today I would like to share with you another figurine from my Pokémon collection. This is a Pokémon that I'm very fond of because I saw him a lot as a child in the series and in the cards and I liked him, especially his evolution, I mean Paras and his Parasect evolution.

Today I will start with Paras, so I invite you to join me in the creative process of this figurine.

Saludos amigos. Hace poco compartí con ustedes una figurita de un Hitmonlee. Es un personaje de Pokémon que añadí hace poco a mi colección.

Pues bien, hoy me gustaría compartir con ustedes otra figurita de mi colección de Pokémon. Se trata de un Pokémon que le guardo mucho cariño porque lo veía mucho de pequeño en la serie y en las cartas y me gustaba, más que todo su evolución, me refiero a Paras y su evolución Parasect.

Hoy comenzaré con Paras, por eso los invito a acompañarme en el proceso creativo de esta figurita.

Step by step

To begin with, I will mention the materials I used for this figurine:

• Plasticine
• Wire
• Glue
• Tools such as pliers, cutter and knitting needles

Paso a paso

Para comenzar les mencionaré los materiales que utilicé para esta figurita:

• Plastilina
• Alambre
• Pegamento
• Herramientas como tenazas, cutter y agujas de tejer.

The first thing I did, for the shape of the body that Paras has, were two shapes of cakes, a little fat and round. Already the third shape is a shape similar to an oval cut in half.

Lo primero que hice, para la forma del cuerpo que tiene Paras, fueron dos formas de tortas, un poco gordas y redondas. Ya la tercera forma es una forma similar a un óvalo cortado a la mitad.

All these pieces are joined together with a small piece of wire, the oval shape at the end, the larger one in the middle and the smaller but tortilla-shaped one at the other end.

Finally another tortilla is made a little more rounded at the flat end, this is for the head.

Todas estas piezas se unen con un trocito de alambre, la forma ovalada al final, la más grande en medio y la más pequeña pero con forma de tortilla en el otro extremo.

Finalmente se hace otra tortilla un poco más redondeada en el extremo plano, esto es para la cabeza.

For the mushrooms that Paras has on its back, I made a red sphere and cut it in half, for the mushroom's mushroom; then, I cut two small cylindrical pieces of yellow plasticine, for the mushroom's back.

I joined these pieces together with wire and glued them with glue, and placed some small pieces of yellow plasticine on the red mushroom.

Para los hongos que tiene Paras en el lomo, hice una esfera de color rojo y lo corté a la mitad, para la seta del hongo; luego, corté dos trocitos cilíndricos de plastilina amarilla, para el lomo del hongo.

Uní estas piezas con alambre y las pegué con pegamento, además coloqué unos trocitos de plastilina amarillo en la seta roja.

Paras hind legs are considerably thin and small compared to the two front legs. Making them out of plasticine would be impossible, as they would bend as soon as they were placed on the body, and the weight of the figurine itself would damage them.

That's why it was mandatory to use a wire to support them and give them rigidity. I gave the shape of the leg to the wire and with plasticine of the same color of the body I covered the wire. That's how I did with the four of them.

Las patitas traseras de Paras son considerablemente delgadas y pequeñas en comparación a las dos delanteras. Hacerlas solo de plastilina sería algo imposible, ya que se doblarían apenas se coloquen en el cuerpo, el mismo peso de la figurita las dañaría.

Por eso era obligatorio usar un alambre para sostenerlas y darle rigidez. Di la forma de la pata al alambre y con plastilina del mismo color del cuerpo cubrí el alambre. Así hice con las cuatro.

With the help of a wire I made the holes I would need to place each piece in its place, using a little glue to hold the pieces in place.

I placed the four legs on both sides of the body, between the joints of the end sections and the middle section, as you can see in the image below:

Con ayuda de un alambre hice los agujeritos que necesitaría para colocar cada pieza en su lugar, usando un poco de pegamento para que estas piezas se mantuviesen en su lugar.

Coloqué las cuatro patas a ambos lados del cuerpo, entre las uniones de la secciones de los extremos con la sección del medio, tal como lo peuden ver en la imagen de abajo:

For the face I had to remove from the body the little piece I had placed before, to be able to work quietly this part of the character. I made the mouth by making a little hole, where I placed black plasticine and the teeth on each side, using white plasticine for this purpose.

Para la cara tuve que retirar del cuerpo el trocito que había colocado antes, para poder trabajar tranquilamente esta parte del personaje. Le hice la boca haciendo un agujerito, donde coloqué plastilina negra y los dientes a cada lado, usando plastilina blanca para este propósito.

Then I glued the head in place, holding it with a small piece of wire and glue for greater strength in the union.

For the back I used more wire and glue, this would give more strength to the union of the mushrooms of the back with the body of the Pokémon.

Seguidamente pegué la cabeza en su sitio, sosteniéndola con un trocito de alambre y pegamento para mayor fuerza en la unión.

Ya para el lomo use más alambre y pegamento, esto daría mayor fuerza a la unión de las setas del lomo con el cuerpo del Pokémon.

The last thing was to make the largest arms of Paras, which are the front arms. These are similar to the arms of a crab, except that they don't have claws, so I just made two long, pointed masses at the ends. I used wires so that these could be held on the body of Paras.

Lo último fue hacer los brazos más grandes de Paras, que son los delanteros. Estos son similares a los brazos de un cangrejo, con la diferencia que no tienen pinzas, así que solo hice dos masas largas y puntiagudas en los extremos. Usé alambres para que estos pudieran sostenerse en el cuerpo de Paras.

This way the figurine was finished. Below you can see a series of photographs of the final result:
