Putting Family Reunion First | Loh #235

Growing up was really good and smooth for me. I had my family and friends around me. We loved each other, played together, and created a lot of beautiful memories. The idea of moving away to another state or country makes me really sad and unhappy. I was born and raised in Ogun State, Nigeria.

For about two years now, my husband and I have had to move away from Ogun State to another state here in Nigeria. This meant leaving our family and friends behind. Since we moved to Delta State, we haven't been able to travel home. I haven't seen my family, friends, or cousins in such a long time, and I really miss everyone.

This morning, I was asking myself a question: If I received an invitation to my best friend’s wedding anniversary, my cousin’s wedding, and a huge family reunion. All on the same day but in different locations. where would I go?

Given that I’ve been away for two years and miss my family so much. I would choose the family reunion ahead of anyother thing because this would be the best chance for me to see everyone at once and create new, beautiful memories together. Seeing them would give me the chance to show how much I’ve missed them and remind everyone that distance hasn’t changed the love I have for them.

Although missing my cousin wedding and my best friend wedding anniversary would be really painful, but I didn't have any other choice than to visit the family reunion. However to avoid issues, I would still show my care by sending gifts and messages to my cousin and best friend and also find a way to visit them after the event.
