Makes perfect sense.
I think seeing the tip first is a good option for the app.
I don't exactly agree with the ability to go and just change the tip afterwards. There should be some checks and balance system so people can't do that without providing some proof of reason and administrative approval for changing tips afterwards, because I bet that's a tactic shitty people use too to get good shoppers.
Maybe they will enhance things to have "preferred shoppers" where you can just text your peeps like "When are you going to be available bro?"
That would be way better, I would love to just pick my own personal shopper and pay them well for the help. Things are not easy when you don't have a car, so in all essence it's a good service for people like myself.
I've not had any issues with people decreasing the tip thankfully. One thing that does annoy me is if something is out of stock and I have to refund... The tip will go down if the customer has it set to a % tip instead of a flat rate. That's the only time I've gotten less than what I originally accepted the batch for.
Enhance isn't in Instacart's vocabulary unless they are talking about company profits. Preferred shoppers are already a thing, but only in some locations. My city still doesn't have it and I'm guessing yours does not either probably. If it works well, it could be a great thing. I have a friend who gets people's personal phone numbers so they can discuss when the order is about to be placed in the future because they like her so much. She's a girl though and customers aren't weirded out by her asking for their contact. I could never, I'd be getting reported no doubt. However, even with that advantage, she often still doesn't get their batches because sometimes the shopper app just decides to only show some orders to certain people for whatever reason.
% based messes with my ocd.
10% will come to 19.92 cents or something, oh no.. I'm making it flat 20 lol.
I didn't know the % fluctuates if set to percentage based but I guess it makes sense.
This is why they started as a very reasonably cheap service and increased fees, which I predicted they would like a lot of corporate startups. All part of the consumer game they play with us. Increase dependency by making it affordable, then clamp down the proverbial corporate jaws of profit based industry.
My location doesn't have the preferred shopper option yet.
Thanks for the chat bro, have a good rest of your day.
I'd be the same way with whole numbers, especially since I would want to make sure the shopper actually gets what they originally thought they'd be getting.
They are certainly good at putting their company before customers and shoppers.
You take care too my friend.
