Fungi Friday:three beautiful mushroom species for today

avatar

Hello mushroom hunting friends

Today, as usual, I want to show three mushroom species that look very beautiful and fascinating. Among these three mushroom species, I found one a few days ago, which is the black ear mushroom, while the bracket fungus species and the hedgehog mushroom species I found today in the forest near my home. When we go hunting, of course, we hope to find something special in the forest. Today, I could smile freely after finding these three mushroom species.

The first mushroom has a very strong character; I nickname this mushroom species as one of the longest-living mushroom species, even during the dry season. What catches my attention about the blushing bracket mushroom, more commonly known as the thin-walled labyrinth polypore mushroom, is that it has pores beneath its tough flesh. The upper part of the mushroom's flesh has a more striking texture, and on one side, this bracket mushroom species has a very distinctive characteristic.

Finally, I found one of the types of mushrooms that is very, very tiny and cute. Its size is very small, so when I discovered this tiny mushroom species, of course I wanted to capture some good pictures. Even though it is very small, I tried my best to show it at its best. The mushroom species Polyporus tuberaster, also called the hedgehog mushroom, has a fairly large base compared to its top, but it still stands firmly on the branch even though sunlight keeps hitting its top.

At the end of today's post, I didn’t miss the opportunity to introduce another mushroom species, the black ear mushroom or Auricularia polytricha. It has a very soft, jelly-like texture. They often grow on tree roots that are almost touching the ground. Coincidentally, a few days ago, in front of my house, on one of the dried trees, some parts of this black ear mushroom species appeared. The fresh parts of the mushroom certainly caught my attention.
