Fungi Friday: three species of mushrooms that I found look very fascinating.

Hello mushroom huntersFinally, we can meet again in this amazing community. Allow me tonight to present some species of mushrooms from my recent hunt. Recently, in our area, we have re-entered the dry season, which has been going on for over a month now. Although we are in the dry season, I still want to hunt for mushrooms, even if I have to pass through some places that I don’t usually go through. When the dry season arrives, it can indeed be a bit exhausting for mushroom hunters to navigate through the bushes. Honestly, for me, this is already my responsibility for the work I am doing right now. I want to share a bit about the mushroom species I found below.

In my heart as I stepped out to hunt for mushrooms, of course I hoped to find those tiny and adorable mushroom species, that was my dream and hope, but after I passed several corners of the swamp, I found one species of mushroom, Piptoporus betulinus, a more familiar mushroom species in my area often referred to as birch polypore. The texture of this mushroom species falls into the category of hard and fleshy mushrooms. Its size is very small but extremely impressive, having a cute and adorable shape. However, behind its small body size, I see another advantage, where at the bottom of the flesh of this mushroom species, I noticed there were several small pores that made me even more interested in using it as content for my night.

The sun continues to shine, and I keep stepping forward to see other species of mushrooms. The branches of wood are no longer damp; most of them have dried. While I am out hunting, I certainly do not back down before I find more than the first type of mushroom I encountered, even though it is very difficult during the dry season. It is very different to hunt when it is rainy; the tiny and unique mushroom species are completely not visible, only some hardy mushroom species can withstand the hot weather, like one of the other hard mushroom species I found, Trametes hirsuta, known as hairy bracket. Although its texture is hard, interestingly, this mushroom species has fine hair on the top of its branches. This means that this mushroom species has its own distinctive characteristics.

At the end of this post, I do not overlook this species of mushroom, daldinia concentrica, another mushroom species that is just as interesting. The flesh, which has shriveled due to the heat currently in our area, has diminished the beauty of this mushroom, and its prime has passed. The brown color is very unique, certainly not reflecting its young age, while its color is very striking, unfortunately, the flesh is already wrinkled and fragile. It is a pity about its physique, which is no longer enchanting. I tried to capture the best I could from this mushroom species to make it look more appealing. There is no more time for me to continue the mushroom hunt; the day is getting late, and it is time for me to go home. Although I find this experience less satisfying, I hope you like it.
