When It's All Begins #Kiss Blogging Idea 80
PROMPT
Is there a particular book or social media influence that led you to choose minimalism? We’d enjoy hearing all about it!*
My first reaction to this week's #KISS blogging idea above, an initiative in the minimalist community, was a big smile on my face, as it brings back the memory of the very first time the word minimalist caught my attention. It may not be the very first time but it was a day I wanted to read what this lifestyle is all about. To dig deep and learn.
Hive Made Me Do This😊
It was in May 2022, that I was scrolling through my hive feed when a publication in this very community caught my attention. It wasn't her write up at first, but her thumbnail that invited me to read. This particular author was new to me. Her publication was inviting which made me dive into this community and I'm super glad I did.
Too bad I no longer catch the name of that author, as I am not just good at remembering names but I could remember the prompt that week was about more or less beauty/makeup products. She was so captivating right from her image to the entire article.
By the time I left her page, I had to go through to read from many others in the community. As I read each of their stories, almost everything clicked, it was as if they were living a similar life as mine. I felt like oh, this is like my life. The authors were writing my story.
I subscribed to the community that day. And began to follow the weekly prompts and interact with others in the community, though it took me a while before I started submitting an entry to the weekly prompt I can relate with.
Doing this has helped me to discover, explore, and embrace this part of me even though I have always been a minimalist for as long as I could tell without even realizing it.
Isn't that one great part of being a hiver? A Lot of times, the hive helps shed more light on that part of us we never knew existed.
Before this discovery, I had always been the type that embraced the more is less lifestyle. Growing up we don't have much but we always find happiness and make the best use of our limited resources and it always feels enough. We were always happy because we had each other, healthy and alive.
In a world where we are constantly being programmed that we need more and more material things to feel happy, whereas if we are content, all that can make us truly happy most times are minimal and finding pleasure in the little things of life.
As I explored the community, my long term minimalistic tendency was flashing through my mind. I reflected on how much I could not stand a cluster space, my loved for an organized space, my way of keeping quality and few friends instead of having many acquaintances and my simple lifestyle in general.
How much I have always prioritized eating healthy food over quantity food even when money is not an issue. Or my way of choosing few quality products over quantity because I believe quality products let me save more money and space in the long run.
A simple milk drink but a supper food, I choose over soft drinks or juice from stores because of its great health benefits
Yes, I'm inspired to embrace a minimalist lifestyle by the likes of Mark Zuckerberg with his simple style of Gray shirts, blue jeans, black hoodies, and suit.
But I haven't really been paying attention to this part of me until I joined this community.
Thank you very much for visiting my blog and for your support. 🥰😊🙏 do have a lovely time at your end.

Hi, @kss2000 I couldn't agree more with you. We humans are designed to be happy with the simple things but along the lines, we could complicate life for ourselves. I'm happy with this simple lifestyle and I'm glad I embraced minimalism for a very long time.
