Let's Talk About Tolerance At Work Environment

Alex is never a fan of hip-hop music but still allows Treasure, her friend, to play hip-hop songs in her car while dropping her off from work. Because she respects Treasure's choice of music, she just takes pleasure in glancing at Treasure's smiles once in a while as she shakes her body to the tune of the playing music.

Tolerance is respecting others' views and approaches to life even when they differ from ours. Even when we have to disagree we have to do it respectfully and with empathy.

An ability to treat others with fairness and respect regardless of their status, age, sex, or gender can be called tolerance.

Why tolerance is very crucial to a healthy work environment

This personality is very important and crucial in any workplace where productivity is desired. The importance of tolerance among employees can never be over-emphasized, it is required to build a healthy work environment which is necessary for a productive output. It is necessary for an inclusive diverse view that aims to promote collaboration and productivity. It is an essential ingredient in building a strong and cohesive team.

It is important to embrace diversity and acknowledge and respect different views from others, in a workplace with diverse experiences and talent so a common ground is required for coexistence to create a non-toxic workplace.

In an environment where there is a high level of tolerance from individuals, the creative thoughts of each individual will be valued and given the chance to freely express themselves. This could boost their morale, and motivate them to put in their best most of the time.

We humans are diverse, each of most time coming from different backgrounds, different cultures, different upbringings, and different beliefs among others. All these differences require people to tolerate each other to have a healthy working environment.

At a workplace where there is peace, harmony, and cooperation, it is more likely for the workers to be highly productive compared to the reverse should be the case. So, yes, tolerating one another is very important for a productive work environment.

Tolerance is not shouting down someone even before being given the chance to prove themselves.

Trying to see things from someone else's perspective, and respecting their view can create strong bonds among the people working together.

However, keep it in mind that like every good thing, there are always people who will try to abuse such great character. For that, there should be a rule in place in the work environment to deter people who might be likely to abuse or take advantage of those who are very tolerant of others.

I still have a beautiful memory of the first place I ever worked even though it has been many years.

Starting from our boss, down to the lowest level of our employees, there was this great level of tolerance among us, due to a laid down rule of the establishment. This brought fulfillment in knowing that our efforts and ideas were valued. And this makes us strive for our best.

An establishment that wants the best from the employed will structure the company's core values and rules in such a way that everyone feels accepted and valued.
