A Tale Of A Special Knife

If you could get rid of one chore or responsibility you have now, which would you choose? Why?

When I saw this week's prompt, a big smile spread on my face. I did not even have to think much before I knew the answer. I was like, Wow, it is time I let this out, and I can tell you that I'm not the only one who has always wanted to get rid of this single responsibility in our lives. Hmm, do I get you curious about what I'm thinking? Tag along, and you will soon find out.

There was a data compilation by an e-commerce company last year that stated that an average Nigerian spent 59% of their income on food and non-alcoholic beverages.

That was last year when our food inflation wasn't as high as it is today. So now think about how much we are currently spending on food.

Have you ever thought about how rich you could be by now if you did not have to spend any of your money on feeding?

Yeah, sometimes I used to imagine how rich I could be if the amount of money I have been spending on feeding since I became an adult had to stack up somewhere. I bet by now it should be reaching the rooftop of an empty house. I guess you already know where I'm headed; that is right.

If I can eliminate just one thing from my responsibility right now, it will be spending my money on feeding. Imagine I have a special knife 🗡️ that I only need to sway and command any time I need to eat.

Mind you, I would like these foods to come in already-cooked meals. Yeah, that as well; it will save me a lot of cooking time. I enjoy cooking a lot; it is fun and refreshing, but there are times when I do not want to think about what I will cook or even want to set foot in my kitchen, so let the food come to me—already-cooked meals, just ready for me to indulge in them and satisfy my cravings.

This will not only save me money; it will also save me kitchen time and a lot of energy I could use to do other very important things. With this, life will be so much easier, richer, and funnier.

And, oh, I wish every household would have this kind of ability. I see what people are going through when it comes to feeding their families these days; it is not easy, so such a special knife for every family will be the greatest thing ever.

Imagine if I could just sit down on my dining table and call out to my knife and say, "Hey there; can you prepare for me a very delicious Nigerian chicken jollof rice with salad and a tiger nut milk drink? And please make sure all the ingredients are from organic sources."
20 minutes later, boom, the dinner table is set. Of course, there should be an option that, if I want to prepare my meals sometimes, I should be able to do it, for I don't want to miss my kitchen time that much.

And don't worry, we can only order a specific number of calories our bodies require each day to avoid overfeeding, which can lead to overweight.

On a more serious note, healthy meals are very important for our overall well-being, but the way the price of household food items is increasing every day is alarming.
