Let's introspect. If you truly have the ability to hack x as a product. Why take only one account ?

Let's also assume they can hack only one account of their choosing, David is quite worthless compared to some x users.

Not useless his acct can be used to syphoon funds from his followers. And this hack attempt proved that. One of his followers deposited to the crypto wallet that was posted by the attacker

Well no problem make I no divert talk. I was just surprised as his acct was hacked for someone with his reputation and knowledge to fall for phishing trick.
