Harris's VP Hunt Heats Up

The White House race is getting more intense day by day. From what I have been following in the news, Vice President Kamala Harris has reportedly plunged headlong into searching for her running mate. She is said to be meeting with the candidates in Washington, D.C., which again begs the question: who is she going to pick?

I hear there are about five contenders in the running. Among those who will be meeting with Harris, there's Governor Josh Shapiro of Pennsylvania, Senator Mark Kelly of Arizona, and Governor Tim Walz of Minnesota. Each one brings a little something different to the table, and I'm going to be intrigued to see how they would complement Harris on the campaign trail.

Shapiro could be a smart choice in that he is quite popular in the important swing state of Pennsylvania. Kelly have a pretty great background as a Navy pilot and astronaut, and his position on the border could give him some appeal to conservative voters. Walz has an interesting approach, calling Trump and JD Vance "weird", that may help him connect to voters.

Wow, this vetting process that VP candidates go through is grueling. Could you envision having to answer 200 questions just so that one may be considered? I would have been a nervous wreck! But I guess that's what it takes to be the potential second in command for this country.

It's kind of interesting how those polls are running. Harris holds a slight edge over Trump nationally but on par in the battleground states. I wasn't surprised that she'd have the Democratic base on its feet, particularly among young, black, and female voters. It's about time we saw some excitement in this election cycle.

I have to say that I am disappointed by the comments Trump made about Harris's racial identity. It feels like a cheap shot, a lousy distraction from the real issues. I quite agree with Senator Graham, Trump should just focus on policy differences rather than personal attacks. It's frustrating to see this kind of rhetoric in our political discourse.
