Farming Adventure: Planting Cassava, Maize, and Coco Yam
Today, I'm excited to share my experience as I head to my farm this morning to plant three of Nigeria's staple crops: cassava, maize, and coco yam. I'm passionate about farming cultivating these nutritious crops that will not only provide food for my family but also contribute to the local food supply. Why food supply because I will sell when harvest.

STEP (1)

Preparing the Land
Before planting, I need to prepare the land. This involves clearing the area of any debris, tilling the soil to loosen it, and applying organic fertilizer to enrich the soil. The weather is favorable today, with a gentle breeze and partial cloud cover, making it ideal for planting.

Planting Cassava
First, I'll plant the cassava stems, which I've obtained from a reputable supplier. I'll plant them about 10-15 cm deep and 1 meter apart, making sure the soil is firmly packed around each stem. Cassava is a low-maintenance crop that thrives in tropical climates, making it perfect for my farm.

Planting Maize
Meanwhile, I'll also plant maize seeds, which I've selected for their high yield potential. I'll plant them about 2-3 cm deep and 30-40 cm apart, making sure the soil is well-drained and rich in organic matter. Maize is a staple crop in many Nigerian households, and I'm excited to cultivate it on my farm.

Planting Coco Yam
Next, I'll plant the coco yam tubers, which I've selected for their high yield potential. I'll plant them about 20-25 cm deep and 1.5 meters apart, making sure the soil is well-drained and rich in organic matter. Coco yam is a staple crop in many Nigerian households, and I'm excited to cultivate it on my farm.

Conclusion
Planting cassava, maize, and coco yam on my farm today is a fulfilling experience. I'm looking forward to nurturing these crops and watching them grow into a bountiful harvest. As a farmer, I'm proud to contribute to the local food supply and promote sustainable agriculture practices.
