Eyewitness Account: Accident and First Aid Treatment

I witnessed a distressing accident involving two Keke (tricycles) at 2 Lane, Uyo. This occur as I was passing by, I saw two Keke collide with each other. The impact was severe, and the riders and passengers were thrown off balance. One of the riders, a [age 37 /gender male ], appeared to be injured.

First Aid Treatment
I immediately rushed to the scene to offer assistance. Taking them to a chemist, Upon assessing the situation, I make sure basic first aid treatment was given to the victim

  • Cuts and bruises on the face and arms
  • A possible sprain on the ankle
  1. Called for emergency services and reported the incident.
  2. The chemist person applied gentle pressure to the wounds using clean cloths to stop the bleeding.
  3. They provided comfort and reassurance to the victim.
  4. They helped the victim into a comfortable position.

Aftermath
The emergency services arrived promptly, and the victim was taken to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The incident served as a stark reminder of the importance of being prepared and knowing basic first aid techniques.

Reflection
Witnessing this accident and making sure first aid treatment was a sobering or given, I hereby avocate or highlight and increased awareness to educate on accident prevention and response, especially among Keke riders and passengers. I hope that sharing this account will encourage others to take the necessary precautions and learn basic first aid skills.

I hope the passenger and the drivers are okay, you're right, you should really know first aid, because we never know if something unexpected happens. Good thing you were there, you really made a big difference.
