How to Sign Up to Hive Using InLeo’s Keystore – A Very Easy, Free Process!
Landing Page
When you enter inleo.io as your URL, you’ll come across this page:
On the top right corner, click “Sign Up To Inleo.”
Signup Screen
If you clicked on a referral code, or you clicked signup from the original landing page, you’ll come across this screen:
From here, click “Signup with Keystore” – you’ll be directed to this page:
Signing Up
Write in your chosen username and password (password must have 8+ characters, uppercase, lowercase, number, and special character), and complete the CAPCTHA right underneath. Write down your username and passcode and DO NOT lose them!
Next, click “Generate Keys.”
Reveal your key phrase and copy it down. DO NOT LOSE IT!
A useful approach may be to create a document where you write down your username, password, and key phrase. You can also write it down on a piece of paper. No matter how you do it, ensure that you don’t lose access to this information.
Then, download your keystore file by clicking “Download Keystore File” on the bottom. This file ends with the suffix “.json” (so when you later log back into your account, make sure you’re using the JSON file). You’ll reach this screen – click next.
Now you’ll wait for the blockchain to confirm the creation of this account. You’ll see this screen while the process is going on:
Feel free to play the little mini-game at the bottom while this takes place. It kind of sucks, but hey… it’s just an innocent little mini-game lol. For those who play, what’s your high score?
Once the process is complete, simply press “next.”
Account Settings and Options
Next, you’re given the option to upload a profile picture, write in your displayed username (what other people will see when you comment or publish posts), and a little description of yourself or your account. All optional.
Next, you’ll find some popular communities which you can join. You can click to join these, or search for others later on.
That’s it! Your account is now set up and ready to rock and roll.
By the way, feel free to use @sample-account to experiment with the interface if you’re not comfortable creating or using your own account just yet. I’ve made this account public for everyone to use. Just please don’t use it to post illegal or stolen content!
Since I can’t seem to upload the .json file here, feel free to join either of these Discords (FreeCompliments Discord or AmITheAsshole Discord), and I’ll have the file publicly uploaded there.
Please use this referral code to sign up! I can see everyone who signs up using this code, and I will be able to personally help you navigate the website. Don’t worry, I don’t bite (unless you want me to 😉).
Next up, here is a tutorial how to search for and join communities of your interest.
Additionally, here is a tutorial on how to log into InLeo / Hive with your account once you’ve logged out.
Finally, here’s an article on how to draft and publish articles on InLeo.
Note: the above articles will be published over the next few days, and the links edited in.
