How to Create and Publish Posts Through InLeo’s Interface!

Start With Your Landing Page

When you enter inleo.io as your URL and log in, you’ll find yourself on the landing page:

On the lower left, click the “Publish” button and select “Create Post.”

You will land on the following page:

Now, you can write your title and enter the content of your post under it. From my own personal experience, I would strongly recommend that you first write your content in a separate word document. The reason for this is because once in a while, you may encounter a glitch which causes your content to be erased. Once in a while, I got too lazy to do this, and lo and behold… a glitch occurred and I lost my content. Fate always seems to seek out those rare times when I don’t write out my content separately.

Anyway, once you’ve written your content, you’ll find a preview of how it looks on the right-hand side. Notice how I used some simple formatting tricks to create different styles of writing.

Scroll down and you’ll find some publishing options. These include “Select Community” (this is the most important one – otherwise you can’t publish!), “Tags,” “Rewards,” “Beneficiaries,” and “Schedule Publishing.”

First, select the community in which you wish to post. It’s essential to know that you have to join a community in order to publish a post there. For those who don’t know how to join a community, here is a tutorial.

You’ll notice that a tag automatically appears when you select a community. That’s the community tag and is always first. You can now start adding other tags, up to 10. These tags can be descriptors of your content, but some tags are frequently used to get some rewards in the form of second layer tokens (Hive being a first layer token, all other on Hive Engine are second layer, including $LEO).

Some tags which give such rewards include, but are not limited to: #neoxian #pimp #hive-engine #cent #pob #aliveandthriving #lolz #waivio

If you don’t want to use those or any other tags aside from the community tag, that’s ok.

Next, you have the option to choose how you’ll get rewarded. The default option is 50% HBD and 50% HP. This means that of your share of the rewards (remember that 50% of rewards already automatically go to people who vote on your content), 50% of that portion is rewarded as Hive Power (staked $HIVE) and 50% is rewarded as HBD (Hive-backed dollars). So if your post earns $20, $10 goes to the curators / voters, and $10 goes to you, of which $5 is in the form of staked HIVE (approximately 15 HP), and $5 in the form of HBD (5 HBD).

You can also choose to earn all rewards as 100% Hive Power, burn the rewards (that means people can vote, but the HIVE earned is lost forever, which increases scarcity), donate to Hive fund (which is used to fund a lot of things, some useful and some questionable), or decline rewards (so nobody is able to vote on the content at all).

Next, click on “Edit Beneficiaries.” Here, you can place the names of accounts to whom a portion of your rewards will go. If you don’t want any beneficiaries, click the red “-” on the right-hand side. If you want to add beneficiaries, click the blue “+” and type in the username (without the “@” as that is automatically included). Then click “Save.”

Finally, click on the “Scheduling Publishing” slider on the bottom left.

You’ll be prompted to grant posting authority to InLeo. This should be granted, as it allows the InLeo interface to publish your post if you choose to schedule it. Granting this permission also enables you to post content anywhere on Hive when you’re logged in through InLeo.

Click the slider again and then you can choose what time you want to publish your post.

Then, on the bottom right, you can either “Save Draft,” “Schedule” your post to be published, or “Publish” your post right now.

If you accidentally turned on the scheduling slider and want to Publish right now, simply unclick the slider and the “Publish” option will appear again.

That’s it! That’s how you publish a post through the InLeo interface.

It may be a little bit overwhelming to understand all the options at first, but you’ll get a hang of it over time. Then it’ll all come naturally and you’ll be creating publications at the speed of light.

By the way, feel free to use @sample-account to experiment with the interface if you’re not comfortable creating or using your own account just yet. I’ve made this account public for everyone to use. Just please don’t use it to post illegal or stolen content! You can get a copy of the .json file and password by joining either of these Discords (FreeCompliments Discord or AmITheAsshole Discord), where I’ll have the file publicly uploaded.

Please use this referral code to sign up to InLeo / Hive! I can see everyone who signs up using this code, and I will be able to personally help you navigate the website. Don’t worry, I don’t bite (unless you want me to 😉).

If this is your first time reading about InLeo / Hive, and you’re interested in signing up, click here for a brief tutorial on how to sign up. It’s very quick and easy (when the blockchain’s nodes are running, lol!).

Here is a tutorial on how to search for and join communities on Hive.

Finally, here’s an article on how to log back in with your account once you’ve logged out.
