Far From Home ~ Vacation To Sanko beach Lagos: @Dreemport Worldmappin

Taking a vacation is always something that refreshes the mind. And most people can either take it once or twice a year. For me I always travel far, maybe twice a year .

Last year during the festive period I went to Lagos, just to visit my in-laws and spend the season with them. The journey was quite far and one thing about me is I'm not really into sitting down in one place for close to 6 hours.

My inlaw lives in Badagry so that's an extra 2 hours just to get to the family house, luckily we left early so it wasnt really stressful going over Lagos not until coming back.

Lagos pallava

Lagos is a beautiful and big place no doubt, but I've always had the thought of not living there or staying for so long. One reason for sure is “it's overcrowded” and I hate places that are too congested.

The noise, the rowdiness and the fact that you'll have to treak a mile before seeing a bus heading to your destination is really frustrating, coupled with the traffic at night or in the morning when going to work or heading somewhere important.

Well for me Lagos is a place where you can just go on a vacation to enjoy your money. Nevertheless in reaching there I found out the people are different from the kind I meet and mingle with in my state. There are all about business and work work work, to cut it short there are a bunch of hustlers there.

My stay in Badagry

One thing I hate about this town is the red sand. For sure I have to pack up all my white wears to avoid getting them stained with red color as it was quite difficult to wash.

On xmas day we have to use the local method called fire wood just to cook a bunch of food for the party, this actually makes cooking very fast, and less time consuming.

I haven't really used this method of cooking before but all together it was a bit stressful and fun at the same time.

Aside from that badagry is filled with Yoruba people, in fact the whole of Lagos itself is actually dominated by Yoruba culture.

My Trip To Sanko Beach

I stayed in lagos for 2 months precisely, I visited so many places but my utmost favorite was a visit to Sanko beach on new year's eve close to cotonou

Arriving at Sanko Beach was a bit crowded but I loved it though because you can pretty much see anything and everything you want over there, and what blew my mind was the beautiful horse ride I went with my son, though it was scary but it was also an adventure.

The best thing I could ever achieve going to Lagos was introducing Hive to my My sister in law @sarahossai, she's now an official member of the Hive community and she's getting along pretty fine. Actually she also followed us to Sanko beach to celebrate the new years eve. And that was my best achievement ever.

My trip back home

Well after the celebration we all got to go back home, for sure my trip back was very stressful compared to going. We had to break the journey for two days. We traveled back by road and it was very disturbing. I had to vomit throughout the trip and caught road trip sickness.

Well, reaching my state everywhere looks warm and pleasant, but one thing is for sure though “There really ain't no place like home”.
