Exploring The Decentralized World Of Leodex

avatar

I was really impressed with what I saw on Leodex earlier today. I guess I had a wrong impression about it all this while.

When I attended the Inleo Ama last Tuesday and also the talk show with Maya on Monday, I heard it's a decentralized exchange wallet and a place where you can transfer and store various crypto including bitcoin. What I failed to realize is it's far much more beyond that.

Updates:

A whole lot of update have been made, i wanted to experiment if i can convert some leo since am finding it difficult to see my token balance on the hive keychain,

I searched for Leodex.io and found the page, at first i was thinking i can just login with my Hive keys just like every other platform related to hive, but with leodex its different, it's practically related to not only hive but other crypto as well, so basically logging in with the hive keys its not necessary an option here.

Exploring

What caught my attention is the "connect wallet” at the top of the home page. I tried to connect and found out you really don't need your hive keys in connecting to leodex, so definitely it's not just all about hive which is out of the box.

If you are familiar with using trustwallet and Matamask, leodex is somewhat similar, you'll have to download or copy keys called seed phase and store it yourself.

The main reason I am not a fan of trust or metamask wallet is: when the seed phase is gone then your asset is lost. Plus the gas fee for running every transaction may or can be inconvenient and expensive to handle. Well I do not know about the gas fee on leodex yet, but I just hope it can be something affordable when in a transaction.

My Imagination:

I was wondering though: “Why go through all the stress using a seed phase in leodex when one can just connect straight up with the hive keys' '?. On second thought if it's done that way then leodex won't be a decentralized exchange anymore, that way it will be restricted to just whoever has an hive or Inleo account.

With the use of seed phase anyone and everyone can use it without necessarily opening an hive account or being a user of inleo and I found this decentralized enough.

However the June deployment volume target at the bottom of the page also caught my interest. I am not really sure why inleo made this status public, but I guess putting the number out there is a nice way for other people to track the progress and target of the June inleo.

Settings.

I had to go with the dark theme setting mood instead of light. It's a good thing they made it both light and dark as different people have different ways of viewing things, one can choose between using a dark or light theme.

I've always loved using the dark theme on all occasions, because it dims my eye sight especially at night. The light theme however is very comfortable during the day especially if you're making some transactions under the sun then the light theme can come in pretty handy.

Well I got roped in, clicked on create wallet because I've got none before, imputed a password and copied the 12 seed phase given, and was sure to save it on my google drive as this was very important.

Plus I am familiar with how it works, for example I've lost over a 100$ USDT on zilliqa exchange wallet just because i forgot to store and save my seed phase when i downloaded the app, a mistake made once should be avoided.

”Summary.*

With how leodex works it's no different from any other exchange wallet out there, It's so easy for one to navigate through. The most important thing is saving up those 12 seed phases so you can retrieve your asset incase of an emergency.

Nevertheless I love how the team made this platform user friendly. My journey getting all set up went on easily and smoothly without any glitches or delays.

Thinking of it, it would be fun though to see leodex having an app, just like trust and metamusk or any other wallet out there. However the web version also gave it that unique easy fashioned operating mood.

Now with leodex one can not only send various crypto but also store them as well.

I don't think storing seeds on cloud is good idea. I prefer paper + pen

Great insights btw.
