Family moments
Family traditions are usually practices that a family observes together, and they usually differ from family to family. These practices or traditions within families have a way of fostering unity, oneness, and love among family members.
While growing up in my family, we usually made sure we had dinner together, it was a common practice, everyone might eat their individual meals during breakfast and lunch (this is because of work, school, and other activities that take our time during the day), but once it is dinner, everybody is eating together.
This is a very important tradition in my family because it gives us the opportunity to bond as a family. During this period we get to talk about how each person's day went, what challenges were encountered, and boast about our little wins.
I remember that every good news we had was reserved for dinner time. it was during that time that the bearer of the good news broke it to everyone, we all rejoice and jubilate with the person in question. I don't know if you've noticed good news is better celebrated in company, that's something I've noticed, all the cheering and jubilation makes you feel really good, as opposed to when it's just you.
Talking about sharing good news at the dinner table, I remember when my younger sister got a scholarship from school and then broke the news to us while we were having dinner, it was a hearty and merry moment because the scholarship came at a time when my family was going through a rough patch financially. You can imagine having to hear such good news at such a time, it was indeed refreshing and called for jubilation.
At the dinner table we also shared some bad news, not just good news alone, it was at the table my dad summoned the courage to tell us that he was being wrongfully accused at work and as such had to stay away from work for some weeks until everything was resolved, we consoled and encouraged him that God was going to vindicate him as long as he was innocent. Truly God vindicated him, he came home a week later and told us that he got a call from work that his name had been cleared, and he was free to come back to work, he was also given a bonus for the inconvenience caused by the organization.
Another family tradition I'm proud to share is that of always spending the Christmas holidays together. I don't know about you, but Christmas holiday in my house is always a merry one, we might not have all of the resources to throw an elaborate party, make exquisite dishes to celebrate Christmas, or even decorate the house with various Christmas ornaments but we had each other and we were content😃
During this period we play, laugh together, and unwind after a stressful year, it gives us time to rejuvenate and prepare for the next year. On the last day of the year that's New Year's Eve, we write down things we don't want to see in the coming year and then burn them, this has been a tradition in my family for as long as I can remember.
What are some memorable family traditions that are practiced in your family? Share in the comment section and let the fun continue, you never can tell you might find your family tribe (someone that shares the same family tradition) here😃

I love family dinner, it is that time of the day for everyone to bond through meals.
Christmas ⛄ time is also the best part of the year.

Exactly, family dinner time is bonding time.
Growing up my mom would make us all eat in one place. She said it breeds unity but I hated it because the food no dey ever reach me 😅. I end up being hungry. But those were good times 🥰.

Yeah, eating together fosters love and unity, hence the reason why married couples are advised to eat together.
