The bleak midwinter

Shot in North Vancouver last weekend. There's something striking about a boarded up house in the middle of an otherwise nice, safe welcoming community. Comparatively we collected an ornament at a house a few doors down and the house was modern, warm and welcoming inside. And for land that is so expensive it's so strange for one single family home to be abandoned. If many homes in the same neighbourhood were abandoned then it would make sense but one off is odd. And the snow adds to the feeling that something is not quite right.
