Fun Fridays: bumped into someone wearing my T-shirt prints

Introduction

I stumbled upon this "Fun Fridays" post by free compliments community and I quickly remembered something fun that happened to me few days back. Since this initiative is all about sharing a fun story and I have one, I decided to submit this entry. Its actually my first post in the community too. Same cloth with a stranger - My story

Maybe this has happened to you before or not, but then it was really fun to me and I weird too. It happened this week, three days ago (Tuesday). I just left my office to go get something across the street. I walked out of the building and onto the street. I suddenly found myself walking behind a random lady. The fun thing? She was wearing the same print and pattern on my shirt.

You can imagine that feeling where it was as though you are on uniform with a total stranger. It all happened in a flash because I was just going to a store very close. Since the lady in question was walking ahead of me and never noticed me, I decided to capture the moment from behind.

Now you can see me resting on a sofa with with my T-shirt just before I decided to go get something from the store across the road. Check out the colors and pattern on my cloth:

Now see the lady I bumped into on the street wearing the same colors and almost same pattern as mine.

Did you notice the main colors on the cloths? Red, black, blue and white. While It was almost fun to me, I also felt a little weird. After all, everyone wants to look unique. Thankfully, the lady was walking really fast and didn't notice she had a stranger paired behind on same colors.

Did you notice another thing about the woman that made it all the more weird? Did you see what she had on her right hand? Is that a hoe? Hello ma'am, where are we going?

Yes, I laughed out hard later when I looked at the image again. She was actually having a local hoe on her right hand. It looks new though. So likely, she just bought the hoe from a market that day. Talking about the hoe, it was not surprising though as this is the farming season in my area. So it is common to see people working in the farms or gardens or buying farm equipment just like this lady. Maybe I should have gotten a hoe too or maybe a cutlass to complete the uniform.

A little life lesson on humility? Reflection.

Definitely! Fashion and ego are often inseparable in today's world. Sometimes people brag a lot about the expensive cloths they own. The media today also shows us celebrities that carry some air of superiority because of the expensive designer cloths they put on. But then, the main question here is: Am I the only person wearing or to have worn this type of cloth? Probably, someone somewhere is rocking it too. So it is better to be humble isn't it?

This goes beyond fashion though. It seems to apply to life in general. I think it is not great to brag about who we are or where we have been. We all should learn to have a humble assessment of whatever we have achieved in life. Anything we feel we own or have acquired, it is possible that someone has had it before. Even if we are the world's best - being the first to achieve something exceptional - sooner or later, someone would match our achievements if not surpass it.

So humility will take us far in life and earn us more friends. Whereas, arrogance and feelings of entitlement scares people aware from us.

Back to the issue of being in a uniform with a stranger
