AskonLeo: crowd-sourced answers to life's big questions

For a while now, I have been thinking about more use-cases for threads and threadcasts. Something came to mind and I want to share it with you friends. In fact, I am kicking this off today, maybe friends here will find it interesting.

This project would be called #askonLeo. The idea is about creating a forum where hive users could ask questions pretty on any subject - and get answers from the community. Yes, ask real, serious questions and let the community tell you what they think about it. For example: What is something you would have done differently if you are to go 15 years back??

Bringing Quora to a decentralized community

Yes, I am proud to tell you that this idea came from Quora. I have been using this site for a better part of 11 years. Its pretty interesting to see the diverse array of questions and answers from people from all walks of life. A lot to learn from the wisdom of the crowd which is what makes Quora special. But bringing it to Web3 here would be pretty interesting.

So basically, #askonleo would be a project like quora but much better. Its much better on InLeo platform because it will come with all the core principles of Web3 and blockchains technology.

I foresee the following benefits among possibly many others:

• Wisdom from a large community: Ask your questions to a large audience of users that are willing to respond quickly. Tap into Hive userbase which is large, growing and vibrant.

• Get answers and micro-earn too: You will likely get interesting responses from many users. Perhaps, you will find a solution that works for you. Besides getting answers, you could earn tokens through votes on your queries.

• Another onboarding channel: I could easily tell my friends that there is a community where they could get their questions answered. Maybe, a few friends would like to take a look.

• Data security and ownership, etc: All the benefits of Quora and web3 in one place. Your questions/answers on Hive are stored safely in immutable storage. And no one can take away your profile or identity because you own the keys.

#askonleo - Suggestions on how to do it

1. Please ask only serious questions in a sentence or two. Any questions are welcome. No jokes.
2. You could provide a background information to help responders understand your question. Perhaps add an original, but clear image of the situation you are trying to describe if necessary.
3. Use the tag #askonleo so that it will be easy to find your questions.
4. Be sure to acknowledge every response on your questions. Engagement is key.
5. Maybe use the heading tags to highlight the main question.

Join #askonleo Threadcast every Thursday 4PM EST

Everyone is free to ask questions anytime using the #askonleo tag. I also encourage the community to check out the tag page and provide answers. But every Thursday 4PM EST, I will host a threadcast where I invite everyone to ask their questions so that the community will respond in real time.

So Officially, I am launching the very first #askonleo threadcast today by 4PM EST. Why not be a pioneer and join this interesting initiative?

I will give out some Leo to interesting questions that generate lots of response. My little stake of 21k LP will also be used to provide little votes. @threads247 will also be curating interesting contributions.
