Weekly HSBI Giveaway for the Splinterlands Community #12

Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!

The pre-sale of Conclave Arcana ended yesterday and I think it was relatively successful. But for those who missed the pre-sale, don't worry: the general sale starts in a few days and as far as I know, the Modern rotation will take place after this season. This means that the Conclave Arcana packs can be opened and the cards can be played in Modern. Chaos Legion will no longer be playable in Modern. In my opinion, this all happened very quickly, I'm curious to see how the meta will develop. It is also worth mentioning that last week a very special promo card was announced with “Archmage Yabaniuis”, which is modeled after the co-founder Yabapmatt. A cool story, you don't see that in many video games!

Answers to the last Question:

Last week's question was "What are your thoughts about the new Midnight Potion?". This time, 10 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.

Midnight Potions you say?
Well for starters I welcome new items or cards or any new items into the game as it adds to the meta and expands the game which mean more involvement from the community and players. It adds a new level of depth and strategy (some more than others).
I am not a whale so I hate that I probably won't ever have (m)any of them so when I hear about these cool new items like the Midnight Potion I get sad for myself haha.

I share your opinion. I also think that every update or innovation is good for the game, but I will probably never be able to craft a Midnight Potion myself, since I only have two land plots. I might buy some lands in the future, but honestly I want to focus more on the card game itself.

We won’t have enough midnight potions to go round during the first few days while people are trying to get the early mint numbers for the black foil, but price will drop off unless there is another use for aura that keeps the potions production under control

I hadn't even thought about the fact that as soon as there are fewer and fewer Black Foils available, the price of Midnight Potions will probably fall. You're probably right. The price will probably rise at the beginning because demand is still so high.

I think it's a great way to tie Land and the base game closer together. I'm very excited to see the development of the price when the CA packs can finally be opened and people start hunting for those Black Foil cards.

I also think that this is a very important point. Before that, everything with land was more of a side issue and had nothing to do with the game itself. The Midnight Potions are the first new feature to affect the game, in this case the pack openings. And I think that's very cool, land finally has a use.

Midnight Potions are gonna be a must for Alchemy packs and maybe even Legendary packs. For standard packs they won't be worth the cost.

There will certainly be one or two smart bloggers who will calculate what is worthwhile and what is not. But I also think that Midnight Potions should definitely be used for the Alchemy and Legendary Packs. This simply gives you the best chance of getting Black Foils.

Much has already been said, but I would still like to write a few words about the Midnight Potions myself. First of all, I think it's really good that land finally has a use and that you have to craft the Midnight Potions with the resources from it. That means you can't get them any other way. This raises the status of land in Splinterlands enormously. I also think it's very good that there's an item that increases the pull rate of Black Foils. Those who really want the Black Foils will certainly be very happy about this. In summary, I think the Midnight Potions are very good, even if I personally won't have anything to do with them, as I don't own enough land and won't be opening too many packs myself, but will be buying cards selectively.
