Weekly HSBI Giveaway for the Splinterlands Community #11
Happy Monday everyone and welcome to the my weekly HSBI giveaway for the Splinterlands community!
This time I manage to post the giveaway on time on Monday. Last week there was a somewhat larger update, and that was the previously announced Midnight Potions, which are supposed to increase the chance of Black Foils when opening packs, were introduced to the game. They work in a similar way to Alchemy Potions, but can only be produced using resources from land production. I think that's super interesting and great news for all land owners. This means that the final price of Midnight Potions will be determined by the community. I would also like to mention that the Conclave Arcana pre-sale ends at the end of this week. So if you still want to stock up on packs during the pre-sale, you should definitely do so.
Answers to the last Question:
Last week's question was "Which card's artwork do you like the most?". This time, 9 people took part and answered the question. Let's have a look at some of your answers.
It's very difficult to choose because Splinterlands has great art! After a quick look at just the cards I own, I choose Conquerer Jacek. Especially when you look at the full art he looks very majestic with his fire wings and the phoenix on his arm.
Jacek is actually a beautiful card that I hadn't really thought of. I've also never noticed these fire wings before. Looking at the artwork right now, it really is one of the most beautiful cards ever, especially because of the phoenix.
I really like one of the old-school cards - Skeleton Assassin. The image matches the name perfectly.
Many of the new cards, including the artwork for Conclave Arcana, were mentioned. I'm glad that you mentioned such an old school card. Skeleton Assassin has really cool artwork, especially thanks to the blades. And it also fits very well with the then black background of the Death Splinter cards.
For me, it’s a Rebellion reward card- Commander Slade. Really enjoying using it in battles as well.
Commander Slade is indeed very strong on the Battlefield and has impressive artwork. The teeth in his belly and armor look really unique. If you think about it, Commander Slade could also very well belong to the Death Splinter, especially because of the skull on his knee and the purple colors.
I think if Sacred Llama was in the new style it would be the best looking card out there if you ask me. But currently Quix The Devious takes my top spot.
Interesting, so you like the more modern artworks better? I have to say I like both the old and the modern artworks. Quix is definitely a cool card though, especially because he's practically hanging from a roof and can therefore be seen upside down on the card. Really unique!

I have to say I really struggled to name my favorite artwork. There is so much beautiful card artwork in Splinterlands and I was and still am a fan of taking a closer look at the artwork, and incidentally the lore, of the cards.
If I had to name one card now, it would be Fina Voxom. At first glance, the artwork is perhaps not very special and I feel a bit of nostalgia in naming this card. Back when I started Splinterlands, Chaos Legion had just been released and when I looked at the Gladius cards, I fell in love with the artwork of Fina Voxom. I was so happy when I received my first copy.
What fascinates me about the artwork is the hair of flames, the graceful and beautifully colored armor and the blade, which speaks to the fact that Fina is very precise but incredibly deadly in combat. Then there are the elven ears, which remind me of one or two other fantasy franchises, such as Lord of the Rings. In my eyes, this is beautiful artwork!

Midnight Potions are gonna be a must for Alchemy packs and maybe even Legendary packs. For standard packs they won't be worth the cost.
It takes a lot of investment to purchase this type of potion
I honestly haven't thought about the midnight potion much, I do think it's cool that they are developing more ways cards can be awesome though.
We won’t have enough midnight potions to go round during the first few days while people are trying to get the early mint numbers for the black foil, but price will drop off unless there is another use for aura that keeps the potions production under control

Midnight Potions you say?
Well for starters I welcome new items or cards or any new items into the game as it adds to the meta and expands the game which mean more involvement from the community and players. It adds a new level of depth and strategy (some more than others).
I am not a whale so I hate that I probably won't ever have (m)any of them so when I hear about these cool new items like the Midnight Potion I get sad for myself haha.
I'll try to get my hands on as many alchemy packs as I can, and the right amount of potions. It's gonna be expensive :-D But I really hope I get lucky with a Black Foil.
Besides that, the idea of producing a wanted item in game is pretty cool, with only land resources. It gives the game totally new facette.
I'm not sure how effective these potions will be, but most people love gambling, including me😅.
Please add me for the draw- @middle-earthling 🍺🍕☕
Congrats @holdeck2

I think it's a great way to tie Land and the base game closer together. I'm very excited to see the development of the price when the CA packs can finally be opened and people start hunting for those Black Foil cards.
Even though I doubt I'll be pulling any of the new fancy variants, I think you have to spend a few cents to buy/make them if you opening legendary or alchemy packs.
I am actually really happy to see midnight potions come along. Land needed an actual use case other then just farming grain to throw in the lp. I get there are things on the way for land but I feel like this is the first huge step they are taking where you actually create an item using land. Which was basically promised from the start if we look back. I feel like for many land has really been kinda flat. So this sort of scrapes the surface of what land could actually do.
