Splinterlands - Venka the Vile is from another Planet [ENG/DE]

In every card set of Splinterlands, there are cards that stand out because they are so incredibly strong. I wouldn't necessarily say that they are overpowered, but they are very good in battles and are used frequently. In Untamed there were two summoners or archons, Yodin Zaku and Scarred Llama Mage, and in Chaos Legion cards like Deeplurker and Cursed Windeku. There are also cards like these in the Rebellion expansion. I was finally able to buy one of them a few days ago: Venka the Vile! 😍

For the price of about 30$ the card was quite expensive, but I think it was worth the price. In the following, I will introduce you to Venka the Vile and show you a few of my battles with Venka the Vile. In doing so, I'd like to explain why I think the card is so strong. Have fun reading!

Venka the Vile:

Venka the Vile is a legendary melee attacker who belongs to the neutral splinter. In my opinion, this is a plus point, as she is almost always available, with a few exceptions. For the cost of seven mana, you get a very good amount of melee attack points and solid speed values, but few health points and no armor. This makes Venka the Vile a strong attacker, but she needs to be protected in your line-up as she is very vulnerable.

The abilities at the first level also speak a clear offensive language. Venka the Vile is characterized by the Charge ability, which allows her to attack from any position with her Melee Attack. She also has the Piercing ability, which weakens enemy targets with armor.

Personally, I only play Venka the Vile at the first level, as I think she's already very strong there and I simply can't afford two more BCX at the moment.

At the second level, a very important melee attack point is added in addition to a health point. Venka the Vile also gains the Oppress ability, which makes her stronger against monsters without attack points. In other words, another offensive ability.

At the third level, Venka the Vile gains another melee attack point and another speed point. There is no further ability here, but the stat buff is more than sufficient.

On the fourth and final level, just like the previous upgrade, another melee attack point and another speed point are added. To top it all off, Venka the Vile also gets the Trample ability here, which, how could it be otherwise, is also an offensive ability. 😅

All in all, this makes Venka the Vile an incredibly offensive card that can be played and is useful in many matchups. The most important thing to keep in mind, as I said before, is to protect it in your lineup. Let's take a look at some of the battles I've played with Venka the Vile so far.

The Battles:

In the first battle against @extremitymoto, the ruleset Deflection Field was active, among other things, in which I like to choose a strategy with melee attackers, as the ability Thorns has no effect and therefore cannot counter the melee attackers. Venka the Vile fits in perfectly here, as she would be quickly eliminated by an opposing monster with the Thorns ability. This way, however, she can fully exploit her high attack potential. This was one of the reasons why I was able to win the battle by a clear majority.

The second battle was against @superwolf and here, too, a ruleset was active with Explosive Weaponry, which can benefit Venka the Vile. Venka has a solid speed value, which I think is very important in this ruleset. I decided to play Venka the Vile together with the Summoner or Archon Akane and, among other things, to give Venka the Vile the Ambush ability, which gave me two strong attacks before the actual battle began. I also made sure that Venka the Vile was properly protected by Iziar with the Taunt ability. Thanks to my well-chosen strategy, I was able to win the battle.

The last battle I want to show you was against @xcryptogamer. Here my strategy was not directly based on Venka the Vile, as the ruleset Maneuvers was active. Here I like to play the Water Splinter and Coastel Sentry in second position. Paired with some other melee attackers, Venka the Vile can also perform very well, even if she's not the highlight of your lineup. I was therefore also able to win this battle more or less clearly.

Conclusion & Final Words:

In my opinion, Venka the Vile is an incredibly strong card, especially in terms of its offensive qualities. I think I've gone into that often enough. But I also think it's very versatile and doesn't depend on a few rulesets. Since it's also a neutral card, I play it very often and am usually pretty happy with it. I think the investment was definitely worth it and she will win one or two battles for me in the future. And the great thing is that Venka the Vile is already performing so well at the first level. I don't even want to imagine what it would be like at the second level. Maybe that will be worth another investment at some point... 😉

In jedem Karten Set von Splinterlands gibt es Karten, die hervorstechen, weil sie so unglaublich stark sind. Ich würde nicht unbedingt behaupten, dass sie overpowered sind, aber sie sind doch sehr gut in den Battles und werden häufig genutzt. Aus Untamed waren es mit Yodin Zaku und Scarred Llama Mage unter anderem zwei Summoner bzw. Archons und in Chaos Legion Karten wie Deeplurker und Cursed Windeku. Auch in der Rebellion Erweiterung gibt es solche Karten. Eine davon habe ich mir vor ein paar Tagen endlich kaufen können: Venka the Vile! 😍

Für den Preis von ca. 30$ war die Karte zwar ziemlich teuer, trotzdem denke ich, dass es der Preis wert war. Ich werde euch im Folgenden Venka the Vile vorstellen und ein paar meiner Battles mit Venka the Vile zeigen. Dabei möchte ich immer wieder darauf eingehen, wieso ich die Karte eigentlich so stark finde. Viel Spaß beim Lesen!

Venka the Vile:

Venka the Vile ist eine legendäre Melee Attackerin, welche zum neutralen Splinter gehört. Das ist meiner Meinung nach schon mal ein Pluspunkt, da sie somit, mit einigen Ausnahmen, fast immer verfügbar ist. Für die Kosten von sieben Mana erhält man eine sehr gute Menge an Melee Angriffspunkten und solide Speedwerte, dafür aber wenige Healthpoints und keine Rüstung. Somit ist Venka the Vile zwar eine starke Angreiferin, muss aber in der eigenen Aufstellung geschützt werden, da sie sehr verwundbar ist.

Auch die Abilities auf dem ersten Level sprechen eine deutlich offensive Sprache. Charakteristisch für Venka the Vile ist die Ability Charge, wodurch sie mit ihrem Melee Attack von jeder Position aus angreifen kann. Zudem verfügt sie noch über die Ability Piercing, was gegnerische Ziele mit Rüstung etwas schwächt.

Ich persönlich spiele Venka the Vile nur auf dem ersten Level, da sie meiner Meinung nach dort schon sehr stark ist und ich mir zwei weitere BCX aktuell ganz einfach nicht leisten kann.

Auf dem zweiten Level kommt neben einem Healthpoint noch ein sehr wichtiger Melee Angriffspunkt dazu. Außerdem erhält Venka the Vile zudem noch die Ability Oppress, was sie stärker gegen Monster ohne Angriffspunkte macht. Also eine weitere offensive Ability.

Auf dem dritten Level erhält Venka the Vile dann nochmal einen Melee Angriffspunkt und einen weiteren Speedpoint. Eine weitere Ability kommt hier nicht dazu, allerdings ist der Stats-Buff mehr als ausreichend.

Auf dem vierten und letzten Level kommt, genau wie beim Upgrade davor, nochmal ein Melee Angriffspunkt und ein weiterer Speedpoint dazu. Um das noch zu toppen, erhält Venka the Vile hier auch noch die Ability Trample, was, wie hätte es auch anders sein können, ebenfalls eine offensive Ability ist. 😅

Alles in allem macht das Venka the Vile zu einer unfassbar offensiven Karte, die in vielen Matchups gespielt werden kann und nützlich ist. Am meisten beachten sollte man, wie bereits gesagt, dass sie in der eigenen Aufstellung geschützt wird. Schauen wir uns mal einige meiner Battles an, die ich mit Venka the Vile bisher bestritten habe.

Die Battles:

Im ersten Battle gegen @extremitymoto war unter anderem das Ruleset Deflection Field aktiv, in welchem ich gerne eine Strategie mit Melee Attackern wähle, da die Ability Thorns keine Wirkung hat und somit die Melee Attacker nicht kontern kann. Hier passt Venka the Vile perfekt rein, da sie bei einem gegnerischen Monster mit der Ability Thorns schnell eliminiert werden würde. So kann sie aber voll und ganz ihr hohes Angriffspotential ausschöpfen. Unter anderem deswegen konnte ich das Battle deutlich für mich entscheiden.

Das zweite Battle war gegen @superwolf und auch hier war mit Explosive Weaponry ein Ruleset aktiv, was Venka the Vile zugute kommen kann. Denn Venka hat einen soliden Speedwert, was in diesem Ruleset meiner Meinung nach sehr wichtig ist. Ich entschied mich Venka the Vile gemeinsam mit dem Summoner bzw. Archon Akane zu spielen und unter anderem Venka the Vile die Ability Ambush zu verleihen, wodurch ich direkt zwei starke Angriffe vor Beginn des eigentlichen Battles zur Verfügung hatte. Außerdem habe ich darauf geachtet, dass Venka the Vile durch Iziar mit der Taunt Ability ordentlich geschützt wird. Aufgrund der gut gewählten Strategie konnte ich das Battle gewinnen.

Das letzte Battle was ich euch zeigen möchte fand gegen @xcryptogamer statt. Hier war meine Strategie nicht direkt auf Venka the Vile ausgelegt, da das Ruleset Maneuvers aktiv war. Hier spiele ich gerne das Water Splinter und Coastel Sentry an zweiter Position. Gepaart mit einigen anderen Melee Attacker kann Venka the Vile nämlich auch sehr gut performen, auch wenn sie nicht das Highlight in der eigenen Aufstellung ist. Auch dieses Battle konnte ich daher mehr oder weniger klar für mich entscheiden.

Fazit & Letzte Worte:

Meiner Meinung nach ist Venka the Vile eine unheimlich starke Karte, vor allem was die offensiven Qualitäten betrifft. Ich denke darauf bin ich oft genug eingegangen. Aber sie ist wie ich finde auch sehr vielseitig einsetzbar und ist nicht von ein paar Rulesets abhängig. Da sie auch noch eine neutrale Karte ist, führt das dazu, dass ich sie sehr oft spiele und meistens auch ziemlich zufrieden bin. Ich denke das Investment hat sich auf jeden Fall gelohnt und sie wird das ein oder andere Battle in Zukunft noch für mich gewinnen. Und das Schöne ist, dass Venka the Vile auf dem ersten Level schon so stark performt. Ich will mir gar nicht ausdenken, wie es auf dem zweiten Level wäre. Vielleicht ist auch das irgendwann mal ein weiteres Investment wert... 😉
