Splinterlands - Learning about new Cards from Conclave Arcana with Starter Packs [ENG/DE]

Conclave Arcana was released a few days ago and is playable in Modern alongside the Rebellion expansion. So it's about time to take a look at the new cards in Conclave Arcana. A good way to get many cards and learn how to play them are the Starter Packs. These cost 1000 DEC per pack and contain five cards, at least one of which is rare. The difference to “normal” packs is that no Gold Foils or Black Foils and no epic or legendary cards are included.

I'll explain below which cards I received and why the Starter Packs can still be worthwhile. Have fun reading! 😊

I could buy the packs from my DEC, but ...

... I have decided to burn some of my SPS and thus reduce the supply of SPS. 🔥 In the future, the price of SPS will benefit from this, so I also burn some of my SPS from time to time to make my contribution. 300 SPS may not be a lot, but it's not insignificant for me.

It's Shopping Time!

I then bought myself three Starter Packs from the 3000 DEC. Incidentally, these don't have limited availability like the other packs. This also means that there are probably more common and rare cards than in the other expansions. At least in relation to the epic and legendary cards.

First Starter Pack:

The first pack was a very good one. Not only did I get two rare cards, but also an Archon in the form of Gorgug the Endless, which is one of the most valuable rare cards. The Archon alone is currently worth around 1.34$, so I've made my investment back. This is exactly what I meant when I wrote that the Starter Packs can still be worthwhile.

I also think that all the cards here are very strong. Caravan Guard is currently the most expensive common card in the set for a reason. I think the stats of Tidal Tsunamist are very strong and I'm generally a fan of attackers with the Sneak ability. The same goes for Buttercup Mauler, especially since it's immune to opposing monsters with the Thorns ability thanks to the Deflect ability. And Halfshell Seer will be interesting to play with the new Reckless ability.

Second Starter Pack:

Unfortunately, I didn't have the same luck with the second Starter Pack as with the first. Only one rare card and unfortunately no Archon.

Nevertheless, there were still some great cards here. As previously mentioned, Caravan Guard is currently the most valuable common card in the set. And with Conclave Artificer, I got the second most valuable common card and I think the only card from Conclave Arcana without an attack. That is, one of the few cards that can benefit from the Weapons Training ability. Ashen Cindergrim isn't bad either, I like the combination of the magic attack and the Opportunity ability. Virid Venomancer has solid stats, but unfortunately no ability at first level. Fenmoor Platypus could be interesting with the ruleset Reverse Speed.

Third Starter Pack:

Unfortunately, I wasn't very lucky with the third and final Starter Pack either and didn't get an Archon and only one rare card.

I've already said a few words about Ashen Cindergrim, Tidal Tsunamist and Virid Venomancer. I find Deep Delver interesting because of the ability Rust, since it doesn't have that many monsters and can be very helpful. As for Bludgeon Hucker, I have to say that I've never been able to make friends with ranged attackers with the Snipe ability. That's why I don't think the card is that special at the moment, but I'll be happy to be convinced otherwise in the future.

Last Words:

As you could see, the Starter Packs can be worth it, but there is no guarantee of that. I really like the new option of Starter Packs as they really aren't expensive and are affordable for new players. It also gives you a variety of cards to test out. I find all the cards I received really interesting, there are hardly any cards that I already think are useless.

Conlave Arcana wurde vor wenigen Tagen veröffentlich und ist, neben der Rebellion Erweiterung, in Modern spielbar. Daher wird es höchste Zeit, sich mit den neuen Karten von Conclave Arcana zu befassen. Eine gute Möglichkeit viele Karten zu erhalten und diese spielen zu lernen sind die Starter Packs. Diese kosten 1000 DEC pro Pack und enthalten fünf Karten, wovon eine mindestens selten ist. Der Unterschied zu "normalen" Packs ist, dass keine Gold Foils oder Black Foils und auch keine epischen oder legendären Karten enthalten sind.

Welche Karten ich erhalten habe und warum sich die Starter Packs trotzdem lohnen können, werde ich euch im Folgenden erklären. Viel Spaß beim Lesen! 😊

Ich könnte mir die Packs von meinen DEC kaufen, aber ...

... ich habe mich dazu entschieden einige meiner SPS zu burnen und somit den Supply von SPS zu verkleinern. 🔥 In der Zukunft wird der Preis von SPS davon profitieren, deswegen burne ich auch ab und zu einige meiner SPS, um meinen Beitrag zu leisten. 300 SPS mag nicht viel sein, aber für mich ist es nicht unbedeutend.

Es ist Shopping Zeit!

Von den etwas mehr als 3000 DEC habe ich mir anschließend drei Starter Packs gegönnt. Übrigens haben diese keine begrenzte Verfügbarkeit wie die anderen Packs. Das bedeutet auch, dass es vermutlich mehr gewöhnliche und seltene Karten gibt als in den anderen Erweiterungen. Zumindest im Verhältnis mit den epischen und den legendären Karten.

Erstes Starter Pack:

Das erste Pack war direkt ein sehr gutes. Ich habe nicht nur zwei seltene Karten erhalten, sondern mit Gorgug the Endless auch einen Archon und somit eine der wertvollsten seltenen Karten. Denn allein der Archon ist aktuell bereits ca. 1.34$ wert und somit habe ich mein Investment dadurch zurückerhalten. Genau das meinte ich als ich schrieb, dass sich die Starter Packs trotzdem lohnen können.

Zusätzlich finde ich, dass hier alle Karten sehr spielstark sind. Caravan Guard ist aktuell nicht umsonst die teuerste gewöhnliche Karte aus dem Set. Die Stats von Tidal Tsunamist finde ich sehr stark und ich bin allgemein ein Fan von Angreifern mit der Ability Sneak. Das gleiche gilt für Buttercup Mauler, vor allem da sie dank der Ability Deflect immun gegenüber gegnerischen Monstern mit der Ability Thorns ist. Und Halfshell Seer wird mit der neuen Ability Reckless interessant zu spielen sein.

Zweites Starter Pack:

Beim zweiten Starter Pack hatte ich leider nicht das selbe Glück wie beim ersten. Nur eine seltene Karte und leider kein Archon.

Aber trotzdem waren auch hier wieder einige spielstarke Karten dabei. Wie bereits zuvor erwähnt ist Caravan Guard die aktuell wertvollste gewöhnliche Karte aus dem Set. Und mit Conclave Artificer habe ich die zweitwertvollste gewöhnliche Karte und ich glaube auch die einzige Karte aus Conclave Arcana ohne Angriff erhalten. Das heißt, eine der wenigen Karten, welche von der Ability Weapons Training profitieren kann. Ashen Cindergrim ist ebenfalls nicht verkehrt, die Kombination Magic Attack mit der Ability Opportunity gefällt mir gut. Virid Venomancer hat solide Stats, aber leider keine Ability auf dem ersten Level. Fenmoor Platypus könnte interessant mit dem Ruleset Reverse Speed sein.

Drittes Starter Pack:

Auch beim dritten und letzten Starter Pack hatte ich leider nicht sehr viel Glück und habe keinen Archon und nur eine seltene Karte erhalten.

Zu Ashen Cindergrim, Tidal Tsunamist und Virid Venomancer habe ich ja bereits ein paar Worte verloren. Deep Delver finde ich interessant aufgrund der Ability Rust, da diese nicht so viele Monster haben und sehr hilfreich sein kann. Zu Bludgeon Hucker muss ich sagen, dass ich mich bisher nie mit Ranged Attacker mit der Ability Snipe anfreunden konnte. Deswegen finde ich die Karte aktuell noch nicht so besonders, aber ich lasse mich in der Zukunft gerne vom Gegenteil überzeugen.

Letzte Worte:

Wie ihr sehen könnten, können sich die Starter Packs lohnen, dafür gibt es jedoch keine Garantie. Ich finde die neue Möglichkeit der Startes Packs sehr gut, da sie wirklich nicht teuer und auch für neue Spieler erschwinglich sind. Außerdem erhält man so eine Vielzahl von Karten, um diese zu testen. Die Karten, die ich erhalten habe finde ich allesamt wirklich interessant, es gibt kaum Karten von denen ich jetzt schon denke, dass sie unbrauchbar sind.
