Positive and Negative to medical check ups

I could not stop laughing upon seeing this post; the jail term mentioned is so funny. It would be better if compulsory medical check-ups could be mandated for every citizen, and the jail term attached to it is a good incentive because people generally dislike going to the hospital for anything. I've been feeling unwell for the past three weeks now and have refused to visit any doctor to find out what's wrong with me. Why? Because it can be frustrating to see a doctor only to be told to take a paracetamol. No tests are performed to ascertain the actual cause of the sickness; that's a common oversight some of them make and I guess that's the reason majority won't go for check-up if it is not compulsory.

Implementing compulsory medical check-ups for everyone can be well functioning in a developed country not a country that is under-develop. How can people that have not eaten and have no means visit an hospital for checkup? Even we, as government workers that certain amount is being deducted every month from our salary for health insurance is not in anyway benefitting. The health officials make it worse by telling no prescribed drugs on ground, so you have to go get it on your own.

Mandatory checkups can have both positive and negative impacts on individuals and society.

Positive Impacts

  • Regular check-ups can help identify health issues before they become severe, preventing complications and improving treatment outcomes. Many individuals who lost their lives due to unresolved health issues might have been saved if those conditions were detected and treated early for example: Cancer, Diabetes , Tuberculosis and so on.
  • Regular interactions with healthcare professionals can empower individuals to take charge of their health, make informed decisions, follow the Dos and Don'ts and adopt healthier habits.
  • Routine check-ups can lead to preventive care, thereby reducing the financial burden of treating chronic conditions and emergencies such as cancer and kidney disease, among others.

Negative Aspects

  • Mandatory check-ups could be seen as an invasion of privacy and an infringement on individual autonomy aferall, we all have our right to freedom.
  • Implementing and enforcing compulsory check-ups could lead to increased healthcare costs, potentially straining the system and negatively impacting those who cannot afford it. If the government is not ready to reduce the cost or take the larger percentage of the bills,This could be seen as a financial burden. How many people can afford the cost when diagnosed?
  • Forcing individuals to undergo medical check-ups could cause undue stress and anxiety, particularly for those with past traumatic experiences or mental health concerns.

Failure to do so could mean jail term or being fined. This alone can make everyone rush to the hospital before the year comes to an end, hence, they will have to face a penalty for not taking care of their health 🤣 It actually sounds good to me but how do you think this will affect everyone? Not in my country because so many people would have to face the penalty🤣🤣

      Health is wealth!

Yes now if there is a law bind to the mandate checkups i know people wouldn’t want to go to jail because there are lots of stubborn heads here in Nigeria who would rather die at home than knowing their health status

Do you think it's their fault?
Some are running away from spending too much when they have nothing.
Some are avoiding the health officials' palava.
Some are not ready to know what will eventually kill them.

Let there be law and there should be moderation to what they cañ afford

Some people would look for ways to bypass this rule if it were made. I just wish that if the riles are made, the authorities in charge are not penetratable and stick to the laws.

Exactly!
The authorities should make the rule and let them stand by it

Actually people dislike going to hospital.. It is bad the way people and citizens play an ignorance over going to the hospital... But then the law attached to this we not favour the citizens especially in socio-economic status of this our country....

You're right👍
Many people dislike going to hospitals, and socioeconomic factors can worsen the healthcare imbalance. Mandatory hospital visits with corrective laws may not be the best approach, especially in countries with existing healthcare challenges.

It sounds funny right
But it's just that important
Because this is how some people lost their lives because they are nonchalant about their health

Hmm!
This is so true but we can't blame them either because money speaks volumes in all ramifications

Haha 😂. You are truly right. It is indeed an amusing topic with the jail term and that is a serious one.

People will never take anything seriously if fine or punishment is never involved.

And like you said, medicals in developed world 🌎 is something so different when compared to that of under developed countries or developing ones. But this one of the basic necessities every country should take serious.

Its only on the government because of how sad leadership has become. Every country should have free medicals for their citizens which is the only way such laws as mandatory medical check-ups could work because citizens are struggling so much to foot their bills in many other areas although health is very important.

You are right 👍
Access to free or affordable healthcare is crucial and should be the major pathway before medical checkups can be made compulsory.
Thank you

Exactly
People who are already finding it difficult to survive, making medical checkup compulsory despite knowing it is not free will only make people's life miserable.

I am telling you, they would rather go for herbs than visit any hospital.

Your post is both funny and thought-provoking! Early detection could save lives, but in underdeveloped countries, it’s unrealistic without affordable healthcare. People struggling to afford food can’t prioritize check-ups, and even insured workers don’t always get proper treatment. Still, imagining people rushing for check-ups to avoid jail is comedy gold! Great take on this topic!

I'm glad I could make a serious topic funny 🤣🤣.
Anyway, you're absolutely right, to make laws on compulsory medical checkups affordable healthcare is a must.
Thank you for the kind words👌
