Nothing is as beautiful as these memories

I have lots of throwbacks that still make me smile each time I remember them. Let me start with what the former INEC chairman, Professor Atahiru Jega, did for me, and I am glad for that opportunity. He led me to my soulmate through INEC adhoc staff some years ago. I was posted to assist this young handsome man, who initially gave me a tough time because he refused to show up on time to lead the process.

The voters were already at the center, yet no presiding officer. I kept on calling his phone number with anger till he finally showed up. Before he came, I was already boiling because I hate to joke with what is expected of me, but when I finally saw the handsome guy alighted from the vehicle, my heart melted, the anger disappeared, all that I planned to do to him disappeared, and I became gentle, stealing my gaze on him, smiling like a witch🤣 My action that day looked like a movie scene where two lovers met with a funny gaze😂

The sight of him made me forget my anger

We had no choice but to work as one for us to achieve good results. We finished the whole exercise before he collected my number, and that settled it all. We started talking like normal friends before he asked me out. Every quality I wanted in a man was evident in his life, and I had no choice but to give it a try since I was not in any relationship. The feelings started growing and growing till they led to marriage and the birth of two beautiful kids. The journey of how we met was amazing, and I can't stop smiling anytime I remember March 2011, and we got married in 2014. It was a day to remember with a beautiful smile😊 Every time I remember that day, I smile like tomorrow 😁😁

Another throwback that still makes me smile was when I held my first baby in my arms for the first time after four days on oxygen. It was a very long story because even the doctors and nurses were amazed to see a survivor like us. We fought a good fight of faith, and we conquered the devil when the doctor told my husband,it is 50-50 either the mother or the child, but my husband rejected the option immediately, and God did it.

We both survived after I was unconscious for two days, and my baby was on oxygen for four days. I won't forget that day, how the butterflies in my belly were all jumping for joy as I saw the girl, and I was like Who birthed this pink baby? I held her for minutes, and I was just smiling and admiring the cuteness endowed on her. She was so beautiful and fair in complexion. Flora was and is still beautiful and will continue to be beautiful for the rest of her days (Amen).

Each time I look at this girl, I smile to the glory of God 👌
