I preferred eating quality to quantity
Before the current economic challenges in Nigeria, when food prices were reasonable, I liked to maintain a balanced diet. I practiced a routine of eating carbohydrates in the morning and not again in the evening. I don't like to eat the same thing all over again and again, striving to ensure that our meals are varied and nutritious. However, as food prices increased, this approach has been temporarily pushed aside; Why? The prices of things are too high🤔 We now consume whatever is readily available, often sacrificing the balance I once prioritized.
Small portion and quality 👍
When I got married, I was determined to implement a meal plan that reflected both our tastes and nutritional needs. I even created a weekly timetable to monitor what we would eat. A friend visited one day and laughed at my well-structured meal plan, predicting that I would soon give up due to the rising costs of food. Unfortunately, she was right, the unstoppable hike in food prices forced me to abandon that meticulous meal planning. It is now what do eat this morning or lunch or dinner. It is exhausting!
There are certain food I still refuse to eat, regardless of how high food prices can be in the market. For instance, I cannot eat meals made without actual meat or fish or soups made with just ground or dry peppers. I find it hard to accept a vegetable soup without adequate seasonings. That part of me is hard especially when things are not the way they used to be
So refreshing and quality 👍
I may not be wealthy, but I also do not consider myself impoverished, there was a time when we were facing some difficulties and my husband was trying to make me his priority, he bought vegetables, dry pepper, and nothing more, and that was all he could afford, me in me rejected that offer and opted out to take garri(Cassava flakes) to sleep, this is not me but I couldn't eat because it was quantity. I would rather go to bed hungry than consume a meal that lacks quality and flavor.
For me, eating is not just about filling my stomach, it is about satisfying my taste buds and nourishing myself. I prioritize quality over quantity eating habits. If I choose to eat, I do so to enjoy my meal.
The small portion that is satisfying👍
I do maintain an eating schedule, a practice instilled in me by my mother. She taught us the importance of having breakfast ready before we rushed off to school, ensuring that we ate early in the morning. Dinner in our household was typically finished by 5:30 PM. I know you will ask how we were coping🤷 We were because it has become part of us. I brought that mentality to my marriage, where my husband was more of a late eater. I dragged him
to change by force and he did willingly. Thankfully, I’ve managed to adjust our routine, and now we usually finish dinner by 6:30 or 7 PM.
I don’t follow any therapeutic diet; my focus is simply on being healthy and enjoying the meals I prepare.

I tried having that time table but it doesn't work for me, things are extremely expensive and it always disrupts my meal plans because I would rather go for what I can afford most times
At first, it was working perfectly but I had to push it aside before it sends me back to the village🤣
Eating what you want is not easy at all
I know how hard it has beco for some of us that value that taste theean just filling the stomach, my sister it is hard, some day it comes and when it doesn't we really have no choice but to fill our stomach.
In fact, it is so hard to eat what you want and not just because one is hungry. How do we get here?
The nutritionists are also lamenting, no one is balancing anything anymore
If the food is great, who wouldn't eat more? The food you have shared looks very delicious.
Thank you my darling 💕💕
Quality is very necessary in our eating habits, because it's from those quality food we'll get the right nutrients our body needs.
Thoughtful!
Eat healthy to stay healthy, the watchword we should embrace.
