I think the Tap water is the cause of the browning leaves. I had one and had also issues with tap water. They really only like Rain water. Try to collect some rainwater outside and use it for the plant.
I only give it rain water. I have a rain barrel in my backyard 😊
But is was in direct sunlight, so I think that was the reason.
