The best investment in life is education

In life, we can make many investments. Some will be fantastic, like Bitcoin, and others will be disastrous, like subprime mortgages. But there aren't just pure financial investments; our daily decisions are also investments. It's well known that economics is a social science, not a mathematical one.

And for me, investing in education is the best possible investment. My parents and grandparents were illiterate, but they were very clear that if they wanted their family to advance, they had to provide their children with an education. Some were able to, and others weren't. But even those who couldn't provide their children with a formal education did educate them to value it.
My life and that of my children would be very different if they hadn't opted for it. They had to make great sacrifices in a long-term investment with no clear return. You tell me if they weren't brave enough to make that extremely high-risk investment.
Today, they reap the rewards not only by seeing their children in a much better situation than their own, but also by having that situation themselves. A life they could only dream of when they were young, but which they can now enjoy in the later stages of their lives.
