SPICED LIKE CINNAMON #256

If I were to choose a spice that reflects who I am, it would be cinnamon.

Cinnamon carries warmth, sweetness, and just enough fire to stand out. That’s me. I have a way of making people feel comfortable, like a familiar fragrance that draws you in, but I also bring a little spark that lingers long after the moment passes.

I see it in my journey. This pregnancy was one I prayed for, and when it came, I embraced it with joy—even though life didn’t unfold exactly as planned. I discovered I was expecting before I even missed my period, and I carried that quiet, sacred excitement with me. Now, just weeks after putting to bed, I find myself balancing the sweetness of nursing my newborn with the spice of responsibility—keeping my shop alive, paying the bills, and handling things while my husband is away, even though it doesn't sound as easy as the words I type.

Recently, I found that some goods were missing in my shop, unaccounted for since my delivery that is after I recovered enough to step out and take stock. I sat with my sales girl, not to attack her, but to seek clarity. We went through the records, and even when the shortage turned out to be more than her salary, I didn’t explode. I was firm, but fair. That’s my cinnamon edge—steady discipline wrapped in warmth. It turned out she couldn’t stay, and her mother asked her to quit... I honestly wasn't expecting that reaction from her considering how I've been with her with the free hands I gave her. It left me wondering how I’ll juggle business and my kids when I fully resume, but I trust myself. I’ve been seasoned by life to adapt.

This is not the first time I’ve carried both sweetness and fire. Growing up under strict parents wasn’t easy—it shaped me with discipline, but also pushed me to hold on to my individuality. As a woman, a wife, a mother, and a dreamer with business goals and entrepreneurship ideas, I’ve learned to carry comfort in one hand and courage in the other.

Cinnamon doesn’t overpower. It transforms. A simple tea, bread, or stew, even a cake becomes something richer when it’s added. I think I’m like that too. In friendships, I turn conversations into meaningful exchanges. In family life, I bring prayers, love, and resilience even in hard seasons. In business, I take ordinary ideas and look for ways to elevate them.

I am comfort and strength, sweetness and spice.
I am cinnamon.

I maybe any other spice that's hot or bitter cos l have my bitter side too.. the ones that aren't very pleasing to the taste buds but for now judge me with the spice 'Cinnamon'

NB: The cinnamon picture was sourced, but the rest of the pictures are mine.

Thanks for reading through.. I'm glad I'm able to share my experience with you using this spice
