Wind Storm, Greenhouse and Seedlings, Chives, S9 Tuning, What About Bob - Sunday
Yesterday morning started out blustery with the storm trying to dump rain on us. The porch saw a small smattering of drops hit it but that was about it for the day. Mt Spokane tried to backup the clouds enough to drop rain on us but the winds were pushing them a bit too hard. R was up and outside playing first thing during the sprinkling.
I stopped into the greenhouse to check on everything and to install a different power cord on the S9, the one I had on it was too thin and was warm from the power draw through it. The new wire is much thicker and will handle the extra draw better.
The seedlings are all coming along nicely with the radishes looking like they might start to swell soon.
The kale is gaining some first real leaves.
As are the cabbage.
The spinach is the best so far and I am thinking within a week or so we should be able to get baby leaves from them.
The lettuce are up and looking good. They are fairly fragile though so I have been gentle with them.
One of my true signs of Spring is the chives all popping out new growth. They are generally the very first thing to come out of winter dormancy each year. Both pots got moved from the greenhouse to the deck for them to be closer to the house for ease of access.
I've been tweaking the setting on my S9 trying to get it running as fast as possible and I managed to bump up the power limit to 1.66kw which has my 13.5T running at 17.5-18T with no change in temps.
It was cloudy all day long and the winds kept blowing pretty consistently.
I had little desire to do much around the farm for the afternoon so had stuff on to watch. We got to What About Bob which haven't seen in MANY years. It was one of those typecast parts for Murray as he didn't have to do much "acting" in it. Both boys loved the movie but R REALLY loved it as he sat atop his clothes basket in the living room.
It took J all afternoon to make his open faced shrimp seviche quesadillas and they weren't ready until after 5pm and I hadn't thought of dinner yet. We ended up with salad to accompany them which ended up enough food. Got out to soak as the winds were PUMPING through the tree tops. Near the end of my hour soak a really strong gust came through and threw debris around from the trees. I had to skim it out of the water before I headed inside.
Back to the norm today. I have to get the boys to and from school, chiro appointment this morning, it's to still be windy today and I will cleanup the mess that it has made, the fence for the main garden can probably get closed off now as the soil should be okay to till in a week or so if the heavy rains stay away, the dead trees in the upper pen need to be pushed over and pulled out then stacked, and then R has practice tonight.

I’m glad that the plants are growing but since when have you planted them?
The seeds went in the ground Dec 21st but didn't sprout for over 4 weeks.
