Utd Suck, Luke Littler PDC Win, Retrospective, Soil Temperature Rising, Barn Spider, Grilling - Saturday

It was sad to watch yesterday morning. After the first round of PDC Man Utd played and again were an absolute embarrassment to the game. The team has zero cohesiveness and none of the players have any energy to them, zero desire to win or work together. I have no clue how they are even able to maintain their standing in the tables with performances so piss poor.

While I half payed attention to the horrid match I spent my time building my retrospective post. It took a good while to scroll my timeline to get all the 72 links to posts I needed. I really need to do the same for 2022 and 2021 so I have the posts to reference in future.

The Man Utd tragedy was over then the second round of PDC came on. It wasn't until near 1pm when Luke Littler and Barney's match started and I think much of the world was watching. Luke blew Barney out of the water and it was a real changing of the guard. At this pace Luke may just well be going against Cool Hand Luke for the final.

After the match I headed out to the greenhouse in about the warmest part of the day. The soil temp was about 33F outside the cover the top of the mound over the heater was 40F.

Just to check the frost guard read 39F.

I then went to the top end of the row and measured the temp which gave me almost 49F. Since the heat rises it makes sense that the upper parts would have more heat than the very bottom end where I have been measuring. It's been 10 days and still no sprouts but I will keep checking in and hopefully I can get something to pop.

The afternoon was not the best after having doors flung open that I didn't really want to have to deal with. Not very happy about it and not very happy with who caused it.

I had J get the fire going in the pit then had to go out and build it up some more to make sure we would have the coals for grilling.

I stopped at the outside dart board to throw a few and am amazed at just how shitty the old board is compared to my new one. I was surprised to find this barn spider hanging out in the air over the board. It is mid-winter and we generally don't have the spiders coming out until March or April. It must be a big portent of the coming weather if it is out already.

I got out burgers grilled for dinner with just enough hot coals left.

Got a bit longer soak in before my skin had enough. I can only take so long in the water before it tells me enough is enough.

Last day of the year will be not nearly what I had thought or hoped thanks to yesterday. Last dinner of the year will be beefallo burgers and potatoes this evening and I am not sure if I am going to setup any fireworks... I do have some mortars left but will have to make launch tubes. It's raining right now but will move off shortly then be a mostly dry day. I have my retrospective post written and will post it in a few hours, and I have to update my Hive financial spreadsheet with my beginning numbers for the year.
