Snake, Wind, Tree Trimming, Last Blinds Up, Potting Iris, Dinner, B52, Family - Wendesday
It was nice and sunny yesterday morning and I was out in the yard and found another Gardener snake. I stepped on this one to keep it from getting away while I got pictures. There are at least 5 of them in the pile that I could see at various times.
The forecast was pretty on point. The winds were blowing pretty strong all day long with gusts at the 36mph at times.
Sat on the back deck and ate while I listened to the wind blasting through the trees.
I had noticed some branches in the trees were broken and hanging so I took the ladder and saw out and cut them off them stacked the branches. I cut a number of dead branches from the back tree line to try and clean it up a bit for mowing easier.
The last two blinds went up in the master bedroom and it only took me about 10 minutes in all. The vertical blinds came out and just 2 brackets were needed for each blind. They even fit IN the window frame and didn't have to mount to the surface. SOOOOO much nicer for them to sleep.
My MIL asked me to dig a couple of pots of her Iris for her twin so I got them hacked out and buried in the soil in pots. They got set by her car so she could load them before she left so they didn't get whacked by the heat in her car.
The Blackstone is slick and we are picking ours up this evening in Bozeman. C cooked up the walleye that MIL's twin's husband caught. Super tasty and she had done a whole griddle of hash browns to go with.
R was in full forward trying to steal Uncle Cris's wallet but never could sneak it out of his pocket.
Minot AFB is one of 2 bases in the US that house the B52 and in the evening a couple were up for practice flights. The plane is THE MOST distinctive looking plane and is impossible to mistake for something else. This one was up at 8-10k feet heading west while the other was flying east at about the same altitude.
Marshmallows and smores were on the docket for the evening.
The boys wanted the swings super short so Odin wouldn't bite at their butts.
But Odin was more sleeper than biter it seemed.
It was just us left at the house after SIL and nieces left. The storms were really rolling around to the west and southwest and were headed our way.
It didn't really hit until middle of the night last night and was DUMPING this morning, but it moved off and is just windy now.
Today we pack up and head towards home. We will be staying in Bozeman tonight again and will stop at the Walmart to pickup the Blackstone. Tomorrow we will go to the Bozeman Hotsprings again before we head for home. The weather is still swirling around eastern Montana and western ND but doesn't look too bad for the drive, NO SNOW this time.

That snake is so big
Is it possible for it to pursue me when it sees that I’m running away from it?
I am very afraid of snakes, if I see them anywhere, I leave immediately. It is good that we all should spend time with family.
This year I have a garter snake living in the office steps. I've seen him several times. Maybe one day I'll manage to have the camera ready...
