Sheep Shearing - Sunday
It got hot fast yesterday so we went out before noon to shear some more sheep. I had left them locked into the lower pen to make it easier to catch them and after setting up the tarp and the shears we hauled the first one over. The brown ewe seriously needed to be shaved down with a really thick mat of wool on her.
The sheep fight until we get them laid down on their sides where @stryeyz helps hold them in place while I use the shears. I do one side then we flip them over and I finish the other. I've gotten a bit of the muscle memory back and the process is getting faster with each one I do.

She ran off back to the herd and they all gave her the once over and the ram butted at her a bit. We took a rest for a few minutes to cool off and get some water before we started the next one.

The second sheep we did was one of the males. He sired one of the younger ewes with one of our white ewes, which surprised me a bit that he managed to bypass the ram.
The sheep seem to understand what is going on since they are pretty mellow while I shear. The sudden lifting of the weight and the super hot wool from them helps them out a lot. We still have 4 sheep that will need to be sheared but that will wait till next month after our trip. The worst of the sheep got sheared and the temps won't be atrocious looking the rest of the month.

Today is cleanup around the house, prepping baggage and cloths for the trip, prepping the farm, and I need to roll a bale into the pen.
