PDC, Work On Truck, Trim Trees, New Axle, Mowing, Darts, Waters, Wind - Tuesday
PDC has Player's championships on and I got to watch Barney nearly win his semi-final match, which is doing exceptionally well for him with his form of late. While the matches were on I got to work on my truck.
I started on the front right and then fought with the tire trying to get it off the truck. I finally used the hammer to hit it from behind and it eventually popped off.
The brakes are for sure still good and when I spun the hub I heard no grinding or much of any sound. I went to the left side and it was the same.
So then I grabbed my grease gun and hit all 3 zircs on the driveshaft in case they were dried and making noise. I test drove it and the sound was still there. It is only while the truck is moving so it has to be in the drive train somewhere.
As a bit of a break from the truck I spent some time trimming the trees around the deck. The animals were happy to have nibblins.
So in a process of elimination I ended up going and getting a new axle for the right front. The truck has over 150k miles so a number of these parts could use changing. After picking up J from school I headed up to Deer Park to the Napa to pick it up.
I decided to set the axle aside so I could get a bunch of mowing done since the farm had become overgrown again.
I cut the entire area around the potato garden and along the creek. It desperately needed it and I have a number of other areas that still need to be cut.
In the afternoon I was hobbling around as my legs were both quite sore and I managed to get a bit of time at the board. I was quite pleased with the 133 on my third throw. Managed a bunch of just under 100 throws in the short session.
The animals needed their waters refilled with it being warmer. I have to fill the blue tubs only half way because the asshat alpaca stands in them if they are full and gets the water nasty dirty.
The afternoon saw some serious wind gusts come blowing through. As it got to evening though it died off quite quickly until it was calm by the time we went to soak.
Got closer to hour soak in but was pretty tired so ended up in bed earlier than normal.
Today is the 2nd to last day of school for the boys and they have field day which @stryeyz will be helping with. I have to get the axle changed out on my truck, mow more, work in the greenhouse and gardens, and hopefully our bug zapper trap thing will be here.
