New Tires, Test Ride, Weeding, Digging Cutting Stumps, Even More Weeding, Slackline, Dummies - Wednesday
They top landed Niesen yesterday in the X-Alps, it's called the Swiss Pyramid and the idea of doing what they did scares the shit out of me. The flights they then had from the top took them right towards Mont Blanc which the leaders passed some hours ago.
My first task of the day was to get the tires swapped out on my bike. It didn't take too long and they went on quite easily. It is a massive difference in feel now having no knobbies for tread. I decided I would go for a test ride to see how it handles.
I went for a quick ride up to the gas station and back which the computer on the bike measured way farther than the Garmin. The bike said well over 5 miles which means the tire size is not set right so I have to do a true measure of the wheel/tire and do the mathing. I can say for certain that the tires are way faster op the pavement and much smoother. The hill climbs all were much easier and I was able to keep a much better pace over the ride.
SO. MANY. WEEDS! Got 2 more rows weeded in the garden.
It was a really windy day, way too strong for the wing to come out, so I went for a wander while J was riding his bike. I ended up on launch and used the cooling winds and passing shade of clouds to work on digging and cutting out more stumps. It is NOT an easy task but at least they are all on the smaller side.
I managed to get 10 of them out of the ground and hucked over the fence. It leaves me 10 more to dig of the main stumps, the ones that catch the wing the most. There is still the stand closer to the fence that will come out but they haven't really been a problem for me so far. I still have branches that need trimming eventually too.
The eagles left me a gift in the sheep pen.
And they left crumbs below their nest.
Lego has gotten good. Much better than when I was a kid.
More weeding in the afternoon as I finished up the area the boys had been working on and more.
Made the wheelbarrow a bit top heavy but it made it to the pen.
Where the sheep and alpaca dove into the fresh nibblins.
I was trying to figure out the best way to make the slackline area cleaner so it can be walked bare foot. I decided it's best to first use the hula hoe and other such tools to take the top layer off then rake it all back. This gives us a much softer landing than the pine needles and debris.
It's super good for the core and general training. I've most always walked with shoes on but tried it barefoot myself and got over half way across. I need to be on the line a lot to help strengthen myself for flying.
J is hanging the Dummy 13s all over the house now in various places and got them on the masks. I keep seeing them peaking out from all around the living room.
Out to soak for a while but the mosquitoes were in squadrons.
Today the winds are mellower so I am going to hike and fly Quartzite, and yet again no one else wants to go with me so I have to take the scooter to get back to the car. J's new bow arrives today and he will be super stoked to start slinging arrows with it. Looking forward to the rain on Saturday to clean everything off of the dust and dirt.

Sounds like the new bike computer is working out well, just some map adjustments for the wheel size…😊
Have a good flight today, my friend!👍
