Greenhouse Plastic, Tools Shed Cleaning, Wreck Site, Kraken Surprise - Thursday
It took me till mid morning to get out to the greenhouse to work on the plastic. It had rained some so we had about .1 inch in the gauge and much of the day was anywhere from a drizzle to a down pour. It meant I was not going to be out in it working so I got started with the plastic resetting.
I looked at the way it was hanging and managed to work my way down the right side resetting the clips so the plastic was a tiny bit higher. Then I went down the center purlin and shifted the plastic over which gave me enough slack to work down the left rail. The east end I was able to let the excess hang which closes it off a good bit.
The plastic is just a bit shy of touching the ground, I raised the frame a tiny bit too much it seems. Though I am thinking this might end up okay I won't know for sure until the freezes hit in the next days. It's supposed to be 18F Sunday night and i am going to try to have this all ready and a space heater in to just see.
In looking around at other setups there is a well designed dual layer inflation setup for greenhouses that is not cheap but gives a very solid air space. My hope is that this will act even remotely like those by having the large air gap but not needing the forced air.
Again this is all experimental.
My tool shed is right next to the greenhouse so it's easy for me to shift between tasks which I tend to do pretty often. I had just been throwing things in instead of putting them away so the shed was a disaster area and was too cluttered to walk through. A tub of nails had dumped over at one point and got buried in the sawdust. I went and got one of the magnet wands and used that to gather them all up quickly. It saved a lot of time picking each one up by hand.
The sawdust was from the greenhouse build in May which I neglected to cleanup at the time. Here it is 8 months later and I am just now getting to it. Whatever, it is what it is and it is done now.
I left this shot just cuz. At noon I walked down to the corner then over to the crash site and had my phone out which caught my walk.
So the gist of it is the person stomped on the gas at the intersection with the highway and was hauling ass up the road and as they came to the slight left hand corner the right wheels went off the road and the vehicle slammed through small trees on the right side then careened towards the massive Ponderosa pine tree. The front left of the vehicle impacted the tree and ground the left side with the vehicle landing in the drive to the right.
Debris is still scattered all over and the license plate is still there. Whoever the moron was they are DAMNED lucky they didn't plow straight into the tree otherwise they would likely be dead. The call took 55 minutes and was called out as a rescue. There was little rush or hurry to the emergency crews so I am pretty sure the driver was not seriously injured. And by the trajectory it looks like a fully survivable crash.
I picked the boys up from school as a healthy rain band went by then went back to cleaning the shed once home. It really is just a game of shuffle anytime I try to clean. I have to move everything to one side then sweep and organize then shift everything to the clean side. My life is like this in so many aspects.
Our friend stopped by mid day for a quick visit and we got to talk about my current situation. It's nice to get outside validation that the decisions I'm making are sound and others would do the same in my position.
I got dinner made which the biggest chore of it all is deciding what to make. We have had rice most nights this week so I didn't want that but I wanted the ease, so I went with a quinoa and millet mix. The mix is quite a bit more nutritious than rice is and a really nice ting to rotate through the meals. Both are meal agnostic in that they can be eaten at anytime of day.
We got out to soak for a while but I wanted to see where the game was so headed in a bit earlier.
The NHL and their game times is just idiocy. So what if times overlap more, few people are simulcasting all the games and only care about their one team. People on the east coast can't ever watch a west coast game since they start at 10pm their time. (Sorry, rant over...)
The Kraken surprised with a solid home win, which goes against their trend this season so far. They got a 4-1 win.
Today is our one clear day before the week long slug of weather will come through. It will be some snow but not sure it will amount to a ton. I'll do house chores first like wash my clothes etc, then work on the greenhouse more, the tool shed needs the rest of it organized, boys to and from school, it's Friday so I will be grilling this evening for dinner, and this evening we will likely watch The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai Across the 8th Dimension.

What caused the sawdust in the greenhouse?
Are the woods bad or what?
It was sawdust in the tool shed from when I had to cut wood down to build the greenhouse.
It is not easy to do such hard work among the Winter's because one's hands are cold and then there is a lot of trouble, but we see that you wake up every morning and work hard.
This winter is WAY warmer than prior so it's a good bit easier considering. The real problem for me is the rain which is a pain to work in, I would rather work in snow.
Yeah you are right.
