The Couple Attended the Sunday’s Mass
I shared here on the platform that my husband only attended mass during weddings, funerals, and baptisms. So, last Sunday, he went to the church. Guess why? It was because he was asked to be the godfather of the child of his previous assistant in his workstation. He had now a reason to attend a mass and I feel good every time we attend the mass together.
Since he had an event to attend, we went to Bogo City before the event day to buy a new polo shirt. As much as possible, if we had the budget, we tend to buy new attire if we are requested for an event.
Sunday came. After the mass, it was now the christening ritual. My husband listened attentively to the priest and was serious about his task. I took photos while having the ceremony as a memory that the number of godchildren he had has an additional. It’s a Christmas season, and my husband usually does not think of giving gifts to his godchildren. I don’t know about it, it’s his principle but now that he’s married to me, I’m responsible for giving gifts to his godchildren during Christmas to be fair, since I usually give gifts to my godchildren too.
When the ritual ended, the next thing to do was to celebrate because the child became a member of Roman Catholic. The host invited us for lunch at their place. The place was near the workstation of my husband, yet it was kilometers away from the church. Supposed to be, the child must be baptized in Bogo City because their area was under the jurisdiction of Odlot Church in Bogo City, we don’t ask the reason why they chose the church that is far from their place. It was to our advantage for the reason that the church was a walking distance from our house.
The celebration was just simple, they had a roasted pig which is very common in our place to prepare. We were full at that time. We did “eat and run” during the celebration. It means, that after having our lunch in the place of the host, we asked permission to leave since we had another plan to do. The host was fine about it.
The next thing we did after the celebration will be shared in my next post. I hope you look forward to reading it too.
Overall, I was glad that on the first Sunday of the month, I was with my husband, and we attended the mass together. It was a rare experience for me. I’m not expecting that he would attend the mass every Sunday, since as of this time, it would not happen, but I feel contended that he would drive me to the church and sometimes fetch me after the mass.
