The weekend - with a little reno update on the side

By Saturday, it had been a couple of long, windy days. No, I don't mean a light breeze, yet not quite a gale, but strong enough to loudly scuff up dust. Especially at the market. A recipe for uncontrollable grumpiness. Even with myself.

That called for comfort food: a puddle of parsley sauce, pan-fried fish with baby potatoes (unusually for me) and fresh green beans.

But I'm getting ahead of myself.

The wind was not the only noise going on. The noise in my head is because my day job is wa-a-a-y too quiet, not helped by difficult clients who don't send the work when they say they will. Hence the power down.

But that's not all:

Yes, work is resuming in the void: the ceiling is going in. Of course, as you can see, nothing is straight or equidistant so that's necessitating a significant amount of measure, cut and paste. They ran out of material - and time - on Saturday.

That said, I'm really "getting the picture".

It made me test the stairs which, sadly, need to be adjusted.

They've already been "unpicked" once - another story for another time - perhaps. I'm believing in the power of third time lucky.

On the lighter side, an acquaintance who moved away from the village about a year ago, is visiting and shared a picture of my parting gift - ahead of its consumption - in his new home.

Suffice it to say that I offered a replacement jar as another parting gift, and which was gratefully accepted.

As for my go-to comfort food?

Just what the doctor ordered!
