The Sandbag House Reno Record - the Void - reimagined - at last

Yesterday was long, hot (39°C hot), hard and very productive. The void is now, what someone yesterday described, a "proper" room. This means that this is probably the penultimate, if not final post about this space. Or not...🤭

As I said to someone, we moved furniture upstairs, downstairs and literally into the lady's chamber. This means that bar rearranging the contents of various cupboards and the clothing rack going up, the painting, and deciding if, what pictures to out up and whether the bookcase stays, my new bedroom is done. It doesn't echo any more. 🤣

There's no change to the bathroom status, but for the time being, it is perfectly functional.

So, back to what happened yesterday: Maryann Davies delivered the blinds, Bertus put them up. They are made from the fabric from curtains that were in the office and backed by fabric from blackout curtains that someone gave me.

The beast (linen press) was moved into its forever home and levelled.

To get a sense of what it will look like when the back is upholstered, we hung a curtain behind the bed head. As you see, the office is still in my bedroom and will only move out when the stairs are done. With the year end nigh, the heat and exhaustion setting in, that will happen in the New Year.

Bed made, new-to-this space bedside table and lamp. The other's on the dressing table which stool will go permanently red. During the upholstery "party" which will also address the "wall" behind the bed.

The dressing table and chest of drawers were scooted... ahem... relocated from the old to the new bedroom.

Shelves came from downstairs into the new storage and office spaces.

I might have to invest in another set of shelves, but I shall wait until I have liberated the cupboards in what will become The Corner @ the Sandbag House, and which will store its "own" stuff. More of the baby steps of how that's beginning to emerge in a separate post.

At night. One blind up, the other down.

View from the "dressing room". My scarves (no, I don't have too many) hung up. Weirdly, their new home was one of the little things I had stressed about.

There is much reorganising to do, including moving my clothes and other bits and bobs, across.

Until next time

Really starting to look good, and I like that there's so much light in the room.

The room turned out really nice. I really liked the details of the rugs and furniture; they add cheerfulness and color. Best regards.

The bedroom looks so nice and cozy now that you have it all arranged, and your kitty looks very content with the room.
