The Sandbag House Reno Record - reimagining the Void - IV

Yesterday saw another big baby step: the work started on re-organising the bathroom.

"Re-organising" means swopping the positions existing door with the handbasin. Simple on the face of it, and, I'm told in reality. However, the proof, as they say, is not in the pudding, but the eating of it.

A series of photos with captions explaining them, follows, beginning with the original configuration:

Basin where the door must go

Then:

Basin uncoupled and stashed.

Simultaneously, a final coat of paint was going on to the new ceiling and cladding.

Where the new (existing) door will be fitted. Plumbing to be re-routed.

Looking towards the window from roughly where the bed will be placed.

The door will open out into the bedroom, with the hinges on the right of the architrave: I do not need a constant view of the "throne"...

So, for the moment, I have a walk-through bathroom with no hand basin and a non-functional shower.

There's been no progress today but given that the temperature was 39°C in the shade, better to have kept the heat out.

Anyway, I am beginning to see the vision beginning to become reality. Still not quickly enough, but there we are...

Until next time

Looking lovely Fiona - also experiencing renovations - so worth it in the end - ours is nearly complete (fingers crossed). Enjoy your new bathroom.
